12 to follow, Van Percy for the Melbourne Cup?
VAN PERCY for the Melbourne Cup is the latest news for our ’12 to follow’ as part-owners Lynda and Jack Ramsden are considering a trip to Australia in November for Australia’s blue riband meeting.
The performance at Newmarket last week has left Andrew Balding considering the option but firstly has nominated next month’s Newcastle feature as a possible next objective. Van Percy
Balding said of the Melbourne Cup, “That is a possibility, but he would obviously have to go up a fair bit in the weights between now and then.
“The Northumberland Plate is a possible target for him next month, but we’ll see. Plans are fairly fluid for him at this stage”
We’ll wait and see on one of our pre-season ’12 to follow’ selections, but now on to today’s notebook horses……
Todays Racing……
We had just the one runner yesterday advise via Facebook and ARAB DAWN duly obliged at 9/4…..we advised 3/1 in the morning and he opene d at 11/4 before being heavily backed in to the 9/4 sp.
Today, we’ve got 6 advanced declarations, if backing our selections ‘blindly’ without considering the race conditions, we’ll look at them race by race…
Haydock 16,20…..GUISING will go at a big EW price today, he went into our notebook last season when winning his maiden and subsequently followed that up. He has disappointed since but shaped a little better on the AWT in his last race of 2013. It’s only a very tentative and small EW bet at a best priced 20/1 with BetVictor. Mystery Drama has more the look of a winner in this?
Bath 16.30…..CANDYMAN CAN – Non Runner
Sandown 18.10…..KASTINI goes against Catheral here. The latter will certainly look to dominate the race from he front under Ryan Moore and there’s not much between them in the betting with both on offer at around a best and EW saver at 4/1 with BetVictor. The former has seen improvement since fitting with a visor and may just prevail here for Richard Hughes.
Sandown 19.50…….REMOTE is one of our ’12 to follow’ who has only four runs behind him. Winning the last three he won in fine style with some decent horses behind him in a Group 3 at Royal Ascot in June. He can make a successful seasonal debut tonight at a best and EW saver 4/1 with PaddyPower.
