Al Kazeem to return to training
Charlton is planning an autumn return to the track for three-time Group 1 winner Al Kazeem after returning to training due to proving sub-fertile at stud.
Having had a superb season last year taking three Group 1s including the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown and the Prince of Wales Stakes at Royal Ascot before bowing out with a sixth-placed finish in the Arc.
The six-year-old was retired to The Royal Studs in Sandringham after being bought by the Queen but his less than ‘impressive peformance’ – by equine standards is now back with Charlton.
The trainer admitted it will be difficult to get the son of Dubawi back to the brilliant level which he was at last season.
“He’s going to have two or three months of work and it will be autumn rather than mid-summer when he returns but there are some nice races in autumn so we will just have to see.
Well let’s hope so say the ABW team – we like genuine horses and think he may just do that having not been overraced during his career?

With none of our notebook horses, in action so far this week but a few out tomorrow we will just feature one race.
Nottingham 15.30……HEHO forced the pace when second over a mile here earlier in the month and can go close doing the same again. For those who follow the ‘held up’ horses…..Bright Cecily may benefit from the step up in trip and will be the one with best EW value at a best 10/1 with SkyBet.

Escape To Glory appeared to have the best chance, setting off at 10-1 and even being matched at 1.01 in running, but Llanarmon Lad came home first to win by 11/4 lengths and so causing the Scoop6 to not be won again. Capaill Liath came in third whist Justonefortheroad finished 6th.
Joe told the Mirror “I picked the horses because I fancied them. A few had good form so I just went with my gut. I’m absolutely gutted, but that’s life. It’s still amazing to have five winners but I’m sad, it’s the closest I’ve ever come to a big win.”
Like we said last week, if we can get enough interest from these pages we’ll look at a syndicate entry next week?
