Ascot British Champions Day

 Ascot British Champions Day

Today is Ascot British Champions Day and the star-of-the-show could prove to be the French trained, Cirrus des Aigles (pictured), 2011 Champion Stakes winner and last year’s runner-up.

Ascot 16.05…..that’s the thoughts of the masses as he has been backed into a short priced favourite at around 11/10! However, is he  back to his best? It’s an unknown question and at these prices it’s an easy oppose and look for some EW value.

We look to Paul Hanagan’s mount MUKHADRAM to provide this, he acts on  any surface, especially with some cut and has been consistent to say the least and is a best priced 14/1 with Bet Victor.

Unlucky to have been racing against one of our favourites, Al Kazeem he rarely runs a bad race and has a squeek of better than just a top 3 finish here….best value of the rest could be the French trained, Triple Threat, saddled by Andre Fabre.

Despite sketchy form, Fabre trains Intello who has racing form against another runner here, Morandi. A line through that form could possibly eek out a place if he’s up for it today? and a best priced best priced 18/1 with Bet Victor.

Ascot 15.30.…In the QEII, MAXIOS remains a best  BetVictor (9-2 from 5) and Paddy Power (also 9-2 from 5) and we take him to beat the likely favourite Dawn Approach

Not given due credit for an impressive five length victory when dropped back to a mile for the Prix Du Moulin at Longchamp last time out, he has win and place value here.

Best double digit EW chance could be Kingsbarns. With Jockey Joseph O’Brien flying at the moment could boot a place at a best priced best priced 20/1 with Bet Victor.
