Bank Holiday Monday Racing: 5th May 2014
As it turned out we opted for the wrong ‘un as MIGHTY YAR prevailed with Van Percy finishing 5th/14. From your emails, some of you went with an EW saver on both so came out with a decent profit nevertheless.
Second home was the unfancied Miss Majurie……we’re still undecided on the draw factor at Newmarket as to whether this was a good performance from the runner up…or an exceptional one from the winner. We’ll drop Miss Majurie in the notebook and watch her next time out.
Another that went well yesterday was Jim Goldie’s CLASSY ANNE at Hamilton and we’ll look out for her next outing as well.
Today’s Racing News…..
We were looking forward to another ’12 to follow horse’, MY TITANIA who was declared today at The Curragh. However, that’s a non starter today so we’ll review just a couple of favourable events.
14.40 Beverley……5f sprints at Beverley tend to favour those from a low draw and those who race prominently or just off the pace. The track doesn’t appear to favour those who come with a late swoop.
15.15 Beverley…..Lady Cecil’s Grasped will be a short priced favourite so for some EW value we will consider PROPHECY who has won or placed in 10/23 races and may just give us a place at a best priced 14/1 with SkyBet .
