Brighton Timeform : June 23rd 2015

Brighton Races

Following Royal Ascot we get back to reality of everyday racing and today bring Brighton Timeform from the undulating south downs racecourse.

Brighton brings similarities with Epsom with it’s layout and many a horse becomes a course specialist and handles either course.

Yesterday we kicked off our Premium Newsletter service again following our Ascot special and landed last night with one of our two selections as LAIDBACK ROMEO landed at 5/2.……advised 9/2 in our early morning contact.

Ascot proved a tough ask……unless you were blindly on Moore….Moore….Moore!!! LOL

However, we again proved our worth with our ‘value’ selections as we ended the festival in profit and also landed our second successive Wokingham winner in INTERCEPTION….advised at 14’s!!!

No selections today for our members..

If you want to get on our next selection, either join the service at the bottom of the page or you can even do it to our PayPal email address feedback@always-back-winners.com where most of you have gone along at £10/month.…opt out any time……..our results are kept up to date in the spreadsheet below!!!!

We’re currently rocking along at over 60{70aeb3532cb26dbe277d25ea128ebb74de84b9bd22e1583b0eb1b73768e061f6} strike rate and over 130{70aeb3532cb26dbe277d25ea128ebb74de84b9bd22e1583b0eb1b73768e061f6} ROI

Today’s Racing News

Trainer Wesley Ward will consider sending UNDRAFTED for another crack at the July Cup following the five-year-old’s win in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes.

The American raider flew home on the far side under Frankie Dettori to claim the Group 1 contest and deny Australian runner Brazen Beau in a thrilling finish.

I don’t know about the July Cup, we’ll have a think about everything.

Wesley Ward

It was a second Royal Ascot winner of the week for Ward, who saw Acapulco blitz the field in the Queen Mary Stakes.

The July Cup at Newmarket would be the obvious next target for Undrafted, who finished fourth behind Slade Power in the race last season when also ridden by Dettori.

But Ward is in no rush to commit to a target for Undrafted after he had previously said the horse was in the best form of all of his Royal Ascot runners.

One horse from the Diamond Jubilee who does seem likely to head to Newmarket’s July Course is the third home Astaire.

Kevin Ryan’s four-year-old won the Group 3 Abernant Stakes on the Rowley Mile earlier in the season before a couple of slightly disappointing runs. However, he bounced back in good style in the Diamond Jubilee and briefly led down the centre of the track under Jamie Spencer.

The July Cup, though, may not be on the agenda for the fourth home Music Master as trainer Henry Candy is considering the Nunthorpe Stakes at York over five furlongs in August for his horse.

July Cup Betting….

Astaire is 21.00

Brazen Beau 5.00

Undrafted 6.00.

Today’s Brighton Timeform…

14.00 Frosts4Cars Handicap (6) 5f213y

Top Rated
74 1. BLACK CAESAR Philip Hide Jim Crowley
71+ 3. COLOURBEARER Charlie Wallis Richard Kingscote
70 10. BREAN SPLASH SUSIE Bill Turner Ryan While (5)

Analyst’s Verdict: Though it’s been over 2 years since Hit The Lights last got his head in front, he shaped as though his turn could be near at Bath last time. He could be the answer off the same mark here, particularly with conditions in his favour. Conversely, Black Caesar’s best efforts have come on much slower ground, which tempers enthusiasm where he’s concerned. Gypsy Rider and Colourbearer both merit respect.

14.30 Donatello Restaurant Maiden Auction Stakes (5) 5f213y

Top Rated
92p 4. AL DALLAH Charlie Fellowes Martin Lane
88 1. BLACKLISTER Mick Channon Charles Bishop
60 5. POWERFUL DREAM Ronald Harris Royston Ffrench

Analyst’s Verdict: Although a couple of these have already shown a fair level of ability, With Pleasure is taken to make a winning debut. Rookie trainer Simon Crisford has already showcased his ability to ready a 2-y-o newcomer, and if there is confidence behind the Poet’s Voice colt in the betting the hint should be taken. Al Dallah is feared most following her improved effort at Lingfield, ahead of Blacklister.

15.00 James Ross Jewellers Handicap (4) 5f59y

Top Rated
96 2. FLYING BEAR Jeremy Gask Frederik Tylicki
94 7. MIDLANDER Mark Johnston Franny Norton
92 5. STORM LIGHTNING Mark Brisbourne Cam Hardie (3)

Analyst’s Verdict: Flying Bear has resumed in fine fettle this year, notching his second victory of 2015 in a competitive event at Lingfield last time. It’s surprising that the handicapper hasn’t reacted to that given that it was arguably a career-best effort, and the 4-y-o should prove a tough nut to crack. Midlander will be a threat if able to bounce back to his best, while Storm Lightning is another to consider.

15.30 Winner Group Handicap (6) 1m1f209y

Top Rated
85 3. KICKING THE CAN Michael Attwater Robert Havlin
79 4. ROY ROCKET John Berry John Egan
77 6. HONG KONG JOE Lydia Richards Charles Bishop

Analyst’s Verdict: If able to reproduce the form of his latest effort at Lingfield back on turf here,Kicking The Can will take plenty of stopping. Indeed, the combination of cheekpieces and a more enterprising ride sparked an improved display on that occasion, and he’s able to race off a 6 lb lower mark this time. The in-form Roy Rocket is likely to emerge as the main danger, with Hong Kong Joe best of the rest.

16.00 Cobb Digital PR Handicap (6) (D.I) 7f214y

Top Rated
69 1. OLNEY LASS Lydia Pearce Simon Pearce (3)
67+ 3. ELLE REBELLE Mark Brisbourne Cam Hardie (3)
67 5. ROXY LANE Peter Hiatt Ciaran McKee (7)

Analyst’s Verdict: Olney Lass and Elle Rebelle both returned to form when making the frame here recently, and they can fight this out. Marginal preference is for Olney Lass, who was gaining at the finish in the 7f handicap won by Port Lairge last week and the return to this trip will be very much in her favour. Handicap debutant Knight of The Air is most interesting of the remainder.

16.30 Cobb Digital PR Handicap (6) (D.II) 7f214y

Top Rated
72 2. EL DUQUE Bill Turner Ryan While (5)
69 3. MALIH Eric Wheeler Jim Crowley
68 8. JERSEY BULL Michael Madgwick Liam Keniry

Analyst’s Verdict: This is a more realistic assignment for El Duque, who acquitted himself well when splitting a pair of rivals on drastically unfavourable terms in a Goodwood seller recently. A reproduction of that effort will make him hard to beat here. Malih needs considering after going agonisingly close at Lingfield last time, while handicap debutante Zahenda is one to monitor closely in the betting.

17.00 Piglets Pantry Pie And Pint Handicap (5) 6f209y

Top Rated
80 7. DYLAN’S STORM David Dennis Fergus Sweeney
79 2. POLAR KITE Michael Attwater Robert Havlin
79 5. HIPZ Laura Mongan Jim Crowley

Analyst’s Verdict: Hipz was strong at the finish when resuming winning ways here recently, and a 7 lb rise may not be enough to prevent her from going in again. Dylan’s Storm lost little caste in defeat at Leicester last week and a reproduction of that effort will make him a real threat, while Fairy Mist and handicap debutant Super Icon also make the shortlist.

17.30 Mears Group Amateur Riders’ Handicap (6) 1m3f196y

Top Rated
91 1. ASKNOTWHAT David Bridgwater Miss P. Bridgwater (7)
90 2. DARK DIAMOND Julia Feilden Mr R. Birkett
88 5. COMEDY HOUSE Michael Madgwick Mr S. Walker

Analyst’s Verdict: Plenty in with a shout here. Asknotwhat has shaped quite well on both starts since joining this yard (hurdle first occasion) and gets a narrow vote with the return to a longer trip expected to be in his favour. The in-form Dancing Primo and former C&D winner Snow Conditions head the many dangers.
