Champions League News

Chelsea summer signing Andre Schurrle has warned that their Champions League opponents Schalke are a ‘very good team with strong individuals’.
Schurrle, who is a doubt for the game on Tuesday evening due to a leg injury, left Bayer Leverkusen to join the Blues and is well aware of the threat that Schalke pose.
It is them who are under pressure after losing on matchday one.

He told the official Bundesliga website: “Schalke are a very good team with strong individuals, but we also have an outstanding team with a lot of quality, meaning we’ll go into the game believing we can win it.”
Chelsea may also be without England left-back Ashley Cole due to a rib injury, with the Blues under pressure in Group E after losing their first game 2-1 to FC Basel, before responding with a 4-0 victory at Steaua Bucharest.
And Schalke sporting director Horst Heldt believes that the pressure may be greater on the Blues than his club, adding: “Obviously, Chelsea are the favourites to win the group.
“We have six points on the table and Chelsea have only three. They are still the favourites, but it is them who are under pressure after losing on matchday one.”
Schalke, who will be without star striker Klaas-Jan Hunterlaar after he underwent knee surgery, are 23/10 to defeat Chelsea in the Veltins-Arena and 5/2 to earn a draw.
The Blues are 13/10 to win in Germany and 4/6 to eventually top Group E.
