Champions League Previews: November 26th
Basel v Chelsea: Preview 26th November
Jose Mourinho insists his Chelsea players are under no pressure when they come up against Basel in the Champions League on Tuesday. The Swiss team secured a shock victory at Stamford Bridge in September but have since slipped to third in the group, behind the Blues and Schalke. Mourinho believes Chelsea are far better than when they first faced Basel two months ago and is confident his side can seal their place in the last 16 of the Champions League by winning in Switzerland.
We can finish the job to qualify and Basle, even if they win, have to play a last final at Gelsenkirchen. Jose Mourinho
Former Real Madrid and Inter Milan boss Mourinho insisted: “If somebody has to feel the pressure, it’s not us. It’s Basel, because they are in a limited situation to qualify for the next round. “They are under pressure and we are not. We can finish the job to qualify and Basel, even if they win, have to play a last final at Gelsenkirchen. “For them, the situation is difficult. This shows clearly that, after the first match, we did our job and they didn’t do theirs. This Chelsea is better than the Chelsea that played at Stamford Bridge. “Hopefully we can continue the good run we’ve had in the Champions League and finish the job.” Chelsea can be backed at 14/1 to win this season’s Champions League and are available to back at 7/2 in the Premier League outright betting. They are 14/1 to win 3-1 in Switzerland with Frank Lampard 10/1 to open the scoring.
