Charlie Longsdon horses running well
Charlie Longsdon trained horses are continuing to run well and the trainer has plans in hand for one in particular.
He was thrilled with the performance of Up to Something at Newbury last weekend when the horse finished second behind one of Paul Nicholls’ top prospects for the season – Wonderful Charm.
It’s well known how highly Nicholls regards that horse and for Up to Something to get within six lengths of him was a tip top performance.
Prior to that he had been beaten by Ivor’s King following a couple of wins and the trainer is eyeing various opportunities for his next run.
Having seen him placed in two Grade twos is very encouraging and at one point, such was the quality of his jumping that it looked as though he may win the race at Newbury.
The trainer admitted that he is now ready to put him away for a few weeks after a busy autumn and early winter campaign and said he intends to look for another graded race for him in a few weeks time.
Longsdon is also on the lookout for another opportunity for the excellent Hazy Tom who ran with credit at Newbury before unseating Noel Fehily at the penultimate jump.
He believes the horse was well beaten at the time and admits it will be hard to place the horse declaring: “He is now thoroughly exposed.”
A near miss yesterday with SIR BOSS running a length 4th at 20/1 following Tuesday’s selection….LITMUS, who ran out a MEGA 16/1 winner….
Today’s flat selection comes from the all weather at Wolverhampton……
Wolverhampton 18.20…..Sir Pedro will be the likely favourite after he was squeezed for room on his AWT debut last time, currently a best priced 11/4 with bet365. We look to EW value from proven front runner ROYAL BAJAN who is well drawn up the inside and will be thereabouts at the business end of the race and a best priced 10/1 with SkyBet
Over the jumps in Ireland……
We’ve heard good things about PINK HAT (CLONMEL 12.45). She won two from two in the summer and should be capable of winning on her hurdling debut……best priced at a forecast 2/1 with SeannieMac.
