David Pipe four-timer landed at Cheltenham
At Cheltenham, David Pipe stole the show on the final day of the Open meeting, with Home Run, The Liquidator, Dell’ Arca and Red Sherlock giving the trainer a fabulous 5,995-1 four-timer.
Home Run got the ball rolling when providing a 40-1 shock in the opening 2m5f conditional jockeys handicap hurdle, while Dell’ Arca was a 12-1 winner of the Greatwood.
Over in Ireland at Punchestown Ruby Walsh had five rides, and he delivered victory on every one, with the highlight Hurricane Fly’s record-breaking 17th Grade 1 in the Morgiana Hurdle. His five-timer returned at 27.5-1, and the jockey said of his first five-timer in Ireland: “I’ve ridden a couple of four-timers here but to win five is brilliant.
Four of Walsh’s winners were for boss Willie Mullins, who also enjoyed a fine afternoon at Cork, with another three winners giving him a spectacular 123-1 seven-timer.
Today we have flat action at Wolverhampton……
Wolverhampton 16.30…..Dropping back to 7f and fitting of cheekpieces did the business for Ruwaiyan over C&D last time and he will be a hot favourite to repeat the feat even with a 10lb rise. Short priced at 6/4 with Skybet we will look elsewhere for value and LIVING THE LIFE fits the bill. He needs to make up something for that 6 lengths beating by the favourite last time out but has been in consistent form and is good EW value her at a best priced 11/2 with Seaniemac.
Wolverhampton 17.00…..Sir Boss has to be respected in this grade, averaging a near 25{70aeb3532cb26dbe277d25ea128ebb74de84b9bd22e1583b0eb1b73768e061f6} success rate on going, class & distance….currently a best priced EW value 12/1 with bet365. However, we also like the look of SINGZAK whose last three races have been run outside he optimum trip and with amateurs or conditionals on board. Previously had showed good form, winning here in April and a good 2nd at York in June….a best priced 7/1 with Bet Victor
