Friday Newsletter – 12th April 2019
It’s the Dubai Duty Free Spring Trials Friday meet at Newbury today.
It’s more a watching brief today with just a couple of C2’s where some of these may drop to races onto our radar at a later date. There’s just one 4+ (14.35) Dubai Free Handicap where one of our previous winners ICE AGE tops the weights – he holds a course win over the 6f but this minimum trip maybe a bit sharp against a couple of smart looking types.
(16.10) David Probert was sweet on David Elsworth trained Target Zone’s chances for the season after a maiden win over the Kempton mile despite running a little green, and then followed that up with a running on 3rd on handicap debut off 83. He’s copped another 13 for that and goes as a big outsider of the race but bred to stay this and will be interesting to see how he goes and maybe a bit of shrapnel for place purposes?
Apologies we’re having some IT issues with the Timeform plug-in – we hope to be up and running again asap.
Tomorrow we have our first meet from Thirsk and the seasonal re-appearance of Kenny The Captain. Older members will remember the hope we had with him landing at a big price last term that we frustratingly just missed out on 🙁
In the interim, if you want to see what’s caught our eye, check out the trackers.
For those on the £1k to £10k challenge….we’ve now over an early 80% win/place strike rate …..our bank is now £1064.66 and current stakes are now £13.31 EW
