The Investec Derby Festival kicks off today with the Oaks as the main feature backed up with a card of solid C2 handicaps. There’s further cards ar Carlisle and an evening meet at Donny to back that up.

At Epsom (14.45), tracker Hortzadar looks to carry on his 4yo improvement for David O’Meara. He gets a poor wide draw here and difficult to fancy despite the 12′s on offer, whilst we also noted David Menuisier’s History Writer after missing the break LTO. He’s on course for Royal Ascot and will be interesting how he fairs here on around 7’s but again needs things to pan out well from a similar mid-high draw.

There’s nothing of note for Donny this evening and we’re having a sole bet at Carlisle today ……..
