A preview of the leading protagonists for Tuesday’s Racing Post Arkle Trophy.
This should run out between Rock on Ruby, Trifolium and Champagne Fever with Grandouet is top rated purley on his past hurdle form and he would need to jump a lot better to win an Arkle.
Rock on Ruby was the best hurdler of these winning the Champion Hurdle two years ago; however he has limited chasing experience and his age is against him and he would be the oldest winner for a long time.
Trifolium comes here with a very good chance and generally hurdles very well and he could well run to a place.
Champagne Fever blundered the last when finishing third last time, but he looked impressive prior to that and the Mullins camp are a lot happier with him now. He won the Supreme last year and can follow up by winning this. He is tough and has a high cruising speed and we can see him out battling Trifolium up the hill.

Wolverhampton 19.30…..Future Security is still on a good mark based on his old Golophin form. He won on his stable debut on snow in Switzerland last month and the trip over means he must be strongly fancied. However, we will go for top weight, FLYING POWER who has been competing in higher grade handicaps and now drops back to a past winning mark. John Norton’s charge gets the vote to come out best at a nice EW 12/1 with Bet Victor
