Grand Canal wins….advised @ 7/1

A second winner of the week that gets our turf season underway 🙂

Jack Mitchell won on our sole selection GRAND CANAL. The price got beaten up later in the morning but hopefully most of you got around 6’s?  Backed into 11/4, maintained the progression of last year for trainer Tom Clover.

For those on the new 2021/22 £1k to £10k Annual Challenge, the bank is £1198.88 and current full stakes, unless advised, £14.99 EW

The All Weather bank currently standing at +151 pts to 1pt EW stakes with over a 39% win/place rate.

Today’s Selections

Bath 19.10

Mack The Knife looks very opposable here at virtually even money and a rookie up top with zero experience of Bath. Top of the claimers pile would be Georgie Dobie in that respect and her charge Lady Elysia, plumbed in as the 2nd favourite.

However, looking at better than wipes yer face prices, GRAND CANAL was a very easy and impressive winner over the 10f at Yarmouth on 3rd run. Indeed continued to progress on the faster surfaces and ran 2nd at Thirsk when upped to this 12f trip for the first time, up 15lb from entry mark.

Hit traffic in that one and could have been a whole lot closer. Will run the line through two extended trips on the AW and back for more progression this season being a lightly raced type in this one.

Jack Mitchell is back up top who got on well with him last term. Despite him mainly noted and established as an AW specialist, has an excellent record over this track and trip. At 20% win and near 50% place in over 200 rides here rates a very positive profile.

There’s a best 15/2 with Hills and a more general 7’s on offer this morning at time of posting.
