Horse Racing Selections – 10th August 2019

Shergar Cup Day at Ascot on Saturday though our main focus for members will be the meets a Redcar, Haydock & Ayr.

Just looking at that Ascot card, only the (14.15) features any of our trackers. Eve J-H saddles up Hyanna who was a consistent filly last term finishing off the season with a good 2nd at HQ to Klassique. That one now rates 107 following a G3 Haydock win this summer and off 90 dropped in grade still looks a progressive sort.

She is however a named reserve for this one race but value if any drop out. The only definite runner is Ian Williams Reshoun who purportedly a soft ground specialist, does have form on a quicker surface running well at Salisbury earlier this term. However he’s still likely to find this a bit quick and preference would be for Hyanna with a run?

At Ayr this evening, there’s quite a few trackers out…..but all at shortish prices 🙁

(17.20) Retirement Beckons & Be Bold are both on at under 5’s in the Ladies race. In the (18.25) we backed Mac’s Blessings LTO for 2nd place and he looks to have a bit to find on Jacobs Pillow who has been so consistent this term without getting his nose his front.

Finally, (19.55) we’d expect our past winner Chinese Spirit to be competitive in this 7f race on a track and trip he performs so well at?

Just a quick mention on the return of the footy season – quite a few of you linked up with a friend of ours Paul Ruffy at Matchdayprofits last term and were well rewarded. He has an offer on up to 3pm today and there’s more details at the link…Matchdayprofits…where he’s posted access to a 29 page FREE Ante Poste Best Bets Guide , plus VIDEO content 🙂

Today’s Selections

Redcar 14.20

GIVE IT SOME TEDDY was our first winner of the season and indeed gave us decent profit last term.

He’s now 4 below his last winning mark and Duran Fentiman is back in the plate who gave us that early season win.

He has been running in higher grades than this and looking at the opposition he holds the likes of Brother McGonagall & Tadaawol from that race whilst he may have had more to fear from Ben Haslam’s Rey Loopy who nearly nabbed him close home in that one.

Ben had a nice winner to end the day at Thirsk yesterday but this charge pulled up LTO and has a bit to prove.

Coincidentally, 3rd horse home in that early April race was International Man who gave us our big priced winner earlier this week 🙂

We have just taken 12/1 with bet365 with as low as 17/2 with Coral & Ladbrokes

Redcar 14.20 – Give It Some Teddy

Redcar 14.55

Afraid it’s another Easterby charge but we reckon GOLDEN APOLLO is overdue a change of fortune having seen the ground go against him for two seasons on the bounce in the dash at York.

He steps up to the 7f trip that looks a decent move having been doing all his best at the finish of late and has run solidly on the majority of occasions he has tried it.

He’s won off higher marks than this and his high draw is a bonus as the going tends to be better on this side of the track. He should be able to keep out of trouble to come from off the pace likely to be from the centre of the track.

We’ll take him to threaten the slots here and break his 17-losing sequence and have just taken 13/2 with bet365 with as low as 5’s with Paddy!

Redcar 14.50 – Golden Apollo

Haydock 16.15

Mick Mullineaux’s SOMEWHERE SECRET is straight from our tracker when runner up over C&D to the re-opposing Spirit Power.

He has taken a long time to get down from opening marks of high 70’s and previously solid off around 60. On penultimate run had to come from way back against Eric Alston’s charge but better drawn this time to get a toe off the pace closely drawn to Vee Tee Man & Red Stripes.

LTO was highly tried in a C2 at Goodwood and back down in C5 where he has won three times over 5f & 6f on good, soft and heavy going, will likely see him to better effect.

With the ground likely to be heavier than the declared soft he should be in the mix with a best 8/1 with bet365 that we’ve just taken and only 5’s on the exchanges!

Haydock 16.15 – Somewhere Secret
