We open the week with flat racing from Thirsk and Brighton.
Nothing from the south coast and will focus on the Yorkshire track where there are some decent field sized handicaps. Hopefully we can soon build on those three winners last week 🙂

For those on the new 2021/22 £1k to £10k Annual Challenge, the bank is £1128.40 and current full stakes, unless advised, £14.11 EW
The 2021 Turf bank currently stands at +47.26 pts to 1pt EW stakes with over a 37% win/place rate.
The 2020/21 All Weather bank ended at +144 pts to 1pt EW stakes with over a 39% win/place rate.

I have made some smart arse comments in the last few weeks. I will now try and put up a serious post. To win at this game you have to be able to stand a losing run.. Not make rash decisions… Look at how you respond to losing money…Are you likely to stick at it for at least a twelve month period… Set realistic expectations and don’t think you will make thousands in a short time…. It requires discipline and focus to put short term results into the proper context and help your money absorb the bigger picture of long term profit…..Stay firm, work to a bank, correct staking and ride the bad run out….Don’t be influenced by short term results….with proper planning and avoiding getting emotional about results you can help yourselves and avoid getting into the trap of worrying about those losses……………. I use a portfolio of services including one of my own punting angles(Not making a lot as i know sweet F.A. but i enjoy finding the bets.), ABW has been a good profit builder since i joined a fair while ago. The classic statements are don’t bet with money you cannot afford to lose and always record your bets. Those two statements have stood the test of time and i can call on 50 years experience.
Great post Ian – It is so hard to master the art of accepting that loss is not actually a bad thing in some situations; we’ve all been brought up with Gold/Silver/Bronze and a class full of losers, however, to prolong your own life and that of your bank, you need a clear set of rules, an edge (in the case of ABW our top tipster) and the understanding that it is near impossible to win every bet!
