Horse Racing Selections – 15th June 2021

Tuesday sees the start of the Royal Ascot Meeting.

Needless to say nothing I’ve tracked will be running there. However, personally will be having a few bob on Oxted going in the (15.40) Kings Stand 5f. Two years ago I was lucky enough to be invited as a guest to the meeting by one of his co-owners, Stephen Piper. They hadn’t long had him then, and he was slightly concerned about his action at the time. Nonetheless, they certainly landed on a winner there with him now being a Group 1 performer and winner of the Darley July Cup at HQ last term 🙂 Hopefully the drop to 5 will see them back in the winners enclosure from a nice high draw today at some EW 8/1.

For us it’s the rock n roll meetings at Thirsk and Beverley with two up for consideration 🙂

Yesterday Rebel Redemption ran up up another 2nd for us….slightly easier to bear when you aren’t beaten on the nod – but really need to get this monkey of our backs now!

Back in the morning around 8.30 am.

For those on the 2021/22 £1k to £10k Annual Challenge, the bank is £933.16 and current full stakes, unless advised, £11.85 EW

The 2021 Turf bank currently stands at -7.75pts to 1pt EW stakes with over a 40% win/place rate.

The 2020/21 All Weather bank ended at +144 pts to 1pt EW stakes with over a 39% win/place rate.

  1. Careful on that advised Ew 😉

  2. The £111.66 EW 😉

    Tenfold stakes bet lol

  3. Get in Oxted!

  4. I think Oxted was our bet today …another Johnston/Oneill romps in and Easterby does us too!

  5. Gary Tukhoom another with a dreadful stall win raito 2.7% but you keep selecting horses with a very poor chance of winning according to the stall draw, people are putting their hard earned on these tips

    • Peter, appreciate your stats but I have sat down on an evening enough times having passed over ‘poorly drawn’ horses, anguishing on not having selected them when they have won. Yes, it’s part of the picture but not the whole. I’m not being totally dismissive, but if I believe a horse is well in and gets decent conditions at a price it should be able to close close enough from anywhere – unless it opts for a real speedfest to gain an early position. Believe me, I am putting my hard earned on as well. Good job we have had the results we have had over the last few seasons to be backing with ‘well earned’ bookies money and not our own 🙂 Keep the faith….shit happens in this game and why we love the challenge. I know I have recent new members who are thinking ‘this guy can’t tip a wheelbarrow’ and will probably lose 90% of them 🙁 Believe me, if i could eradicate what tends to be a one a season it would be the holy grail, Thanks again for your considered comments, best Gary

      • Just wanted to say thanks for posting the reply Gary, you have answered some of the questions I had been facing myself as a n00b – As you know (with my questioning on the spreadsheet a couple of times) I have taken a keen interest in the past figures, and they really do bode well! I guess the difference here is that the losing run is slap bang into (us n00bs) bank (compared to the last year which was into the challenge profits) which can raise a few eyebrows – myself I made the mistake of amending my bank 9 bets in, so have seen a tremendous downturn in terms of what I have put aside, however, 2 wins would certainly clear that deficit which I’m all to aware and longer term thinking (which I can see you need for the game here) is a definite. We are riding the storm together, and hopefully we will see calmer seas very soon!

  6. No doubt about it Peter a low draw is favourable over 5 and 7f at Beverley. However, a lot of ingredients make a cake. The winner of Tukhooms race was drawn in one but the next five home were drawn 14,7,8,10 and 12. Tukhoom was backed from double figures into 7/2 fav so a lot of judges thought he would beat the ordinary draw he had…….Believe me Peter we are putting cash on these tips and it is money won from the selections of Gary. I think we are around 8 pts down on the flat turf but won around 140 pts on the all weather. I will say again this. If you don’t have faith in the selection process and cannot stand a lengthy losing run (which they will be a lot of) you need to find another service, possibly which operates at the top end of the market (when you find one let me know)………. If you are looking at form, draw, trainer form, jockey bookings and all the other conventional (so called) information, then you will not agree with Gary’s selections imo. I don’t bother looking at racing below class 3 as i think they are like me only fancy it if all stars and moons are aligned. Lucky for us Gary seems to have the knack when these mooses are going to perform. Keep the faith.
