Horse Racing Selections – 17th June 2021

On Day 3 of Royal Ascot, there’s a sole meet at Ripon with a couple of handicaps of note.

(14.50) Chris Fairhurst has his ‘Ripon specialist’ out in Bendalid who has already chalked one up here in this even 8 runner. It looks like one for the market leaders and no sort of a price, as is Bill Muir’s favourite Data Protection. At longer prices, Mike Smith’s Glasses Up has hit the buffers since winning twice at Ayr last term and upped 10, with Delph Crescent seemingly wanting easier.

We’ll have a look at the (15.25) in the members below.

Back in the morning around 8.30 am.

For those on the 2021/22 £1k to £10k Annual Challenge, the bank is £889.13 and current full stakes, unless advised, £11.11 EW

The 2021 Turf bank currently stands at -12.5ts to 1pt EW stakes with over a 39% win/place rate.

The 2020/21 All Weather bank ended at +144 pts to 1pt EW stakes with over a 39% win/place rate.

  1. Could not see 14’s anywhere best price 11’s with bet vic at 0828

  2. Gary, firstly I would like to say that even in this fairly long losing run that I believe ABW to be the best service I have ever followed. But, you knew it was coming, I do have one criticism and that is when you put up the selections 20, 30 minutes earlier than you say ,in the previous day blog. 10 minutes makes all the difference of getting 14/1 as advised or 11/1 as today.
I’m sure a lot of people would agree with me. Is it not possible to say 8.30, 8.45 or 9pm in the previous days blog and not before, it’s better 5-10 minutes late rather than 15-20 minutes early?

    • Hi Roger,

Thanks for the comments and looking at Grecianite’s post below I will never be able to please everyone. Basically the way I work is to get the write up done and dusted and go live around 8.30 before I do the school run. This morning was an exception, sorry. The blog then autoposts out at 9.00am as a reminder linking back to the blog. Weekends I give myself an extra 30 mins and post just before the 9.00am deadline for the newsletter. Looking at the analytics most people are on the site at 8.30 waiting for the page to go live and I think I need to stick with that and avoid publishing an hour early.

      Best

      Gary

      • Cheers Gary, that’s good for me.
Just watched another get beaten right on the line, it’s an unbelievable run, I’ve seen many long losing runs, but not sure I’ve seen so many close 2nds.
Keep up the great work, anyone who has followed you for anytime will know the winners are coming soon

  3. I’d suggest a time of 11am as at that time bookies generally have their prices fixed in. The Exchange is a major factor in dictating the bookies price and a number of us use this as soon as the tips are available early in the day, potentially killing the price. This happens more so as our stakes get bigger.

  4. Unbelievable. 2nd place again. And only a nose was missing

  5. FML 🥶

  6. No luck at all at the moment Gary. It will change soon.

  7. That’s the second time a horse has been beaten a nose in the past week or so. Both horses looked like they had won as they flashed past the post. The tide will turn and I am waiting patiently for it to do so. Your process is tried and tested, all that is missing is a small amount of LUCK!
