Horse Racing Selections – 18th February 2021
Thursday’s all weather racing comes from a sole card at Chelmsford.
In the opening apprentices (16.20), a single tracker Solar Park goes at wipes yer face price for Rhys Clutterbuck. He has been noted twice in the notes after coming into Michael Attwater’s yard from James Tate. Had winning form at 75 on initial run at Newcastle in March 2019 that may have flattered in a 5 runner. Taking a while to come down, he won at Wolves a year later off 56 that pushed him up at tad. His last LTO run at Wolves, lost a soft place at the finish for 3rd with the first 3 home 5 lengths clear of 4th. He had a decent 2nd here at Chelmsford under Luke Morris to suggest he won’t be far off in this one for those considering lumping EW acca’s.
In the (19.30) we had looked at Captain Pugwash who went a late N/R prior to last run. However, he’s being made up favourite this evening with little ew appeal. We have a couple more this evening and miles off the pace this week and need to get the ‘sand goggles’ back working again.
Finally, Conrad Allen has Voi out in the (20.30) who we have had a couple of nibbles about for some ew places. A big priced 14’s tonight is upped in grade and may just find a few to good in that line up despite that nice price.
From the intro notes yesterday, Beauty Stone and Roller won at short prices, but eeking out the higher priced places has been way off kilter 🙁 As Nick mentioned in the forum, they had to send a search party for Real Estate yesterday 🙁
We have a couple more nibble this evening and back on Friday morning just before 8.30am.

I only read the other night that if you were having 1000 bets :
Backing an even-money shot each time, you could expect a losing run of 10
5/1 shots each time would be losing run of 38
14/1 shots would be losing run of 100
So the strike rate here is pretty good and we just have to ride out the little storms.
Noticed we got a void on Elusif – Had a second horse been added? I was here about 9:20 and could have sworn there was only one tip today?
