Horse Racing Selections – 19th January 2021
Tuesday sees the first of two consecutive days on the all-weather at Southwell. Only a couple of handicaps of note paying 3 slots to check over and we’ve a selection for one of those.
Frustratingly we hit the post yesterday with International Law getting done 1/2 length in the last race at Wolves 🙁
Will be back in the morning with more Southwell 8.00am.

The Master says’There is not a ton of value out there,and will have to make do with an 11/2 shot’. This word value is badly represented and poorly used in horse racing circles. Many believe an odds on shot can never be value. If i could get 4/5 Liverpool to beat my mighty millers (Rotherham United) in a competitive meaningful game i would snatch your hands off and believe i have got amazing value. It is not the price that gives you value,it is getting a better price than it should be. Now, finding that better price than it’s chance indicates is the hard bit……. Getting that extra place is real value. Yesterday was a prime example.I backed Rebel Redemption with Sky who were paying four places. It came fourth and i made a small profit. I will always take that extra place even if i get a slightly smaller price and know that Sky do not give best odds guaranteed on extra places. The extra place more than makes up for the slight loss in price. It could be the difference between profit and loss in a lot of services. Possibly not ABW as this lad appears to have a magic wand.
Thanks for the insight Ian. Yes possibly the wrong phrase in the context. I am driven by trying to get at least 8’s but struggle on days when field sizes dont get above a double handful. The mighty Millers eh? Home club of one of our legends Frank Casper ⚽️

I’ve had a fiver on the Millers to win tonight,sneaky feeling they can turn over Stoke.
Oh dear Andy. We will try hard, but sadly we lack quality. Stoke have a lot of quality but the weather is not great. Perhaps that might even things up.
They seem to be a tough side at home and got a moral boosting 3 points on Saturday.
