Horse Racing Selections – 21st June 2021

The week starts with flat racing from Windsor and Chepstow.

With the former running heavy and a sole 3+ eight runner handicap will look to the Welsh track for inspiration. There’s one in the last we backed LTO that’s one at better than wipes yer face in the members below.

Nice to get back in the winners enclosure yesterday – let’s look for a pair of buses to come along 🙂

Back in the morning around 8.30 am.

For those on the 2021/22 £1k to £10k Annual Challenge, the bank is £1026.62 and current full stakes, unless advised, £12.83 EW

The 2021 Turf bank currently stands at -1.36pts to 1pt EW stakes with over a 39% win/place rate.

The 2020/21 All Weather bank ended at +144 pts to 1pt EW stakes with over a 39% win/place rate.

  1. Hi Gary

Barring one bookie those 6s we gone before 8am mate.

    • Can’t win Nick, I was asked to try and schedule for 8.30. I wrote this around 7.30-7.45 🙂

      • One question to this. Doesn’t it make sense when you post only your tips instantly when you know you will go with one horse and then write down your Analysis later? Wouldn’t it be better for reaching the best odds before they go down? Doesn’t make sense for me when you write it down at 7 30 and wait for an hour to publish.

        • It’s just a thought, not want to offend you. Most of the time I got your odds at my exchange. I’m thankful for all 😊

          • It’s not easy Kevin, there was debate on here last week. If I tipped up really early or even on the evening before there’s no liquidity in the markets and everyone trying to get that price makes them smell a rat and collapse the price further. It’s a fine balance. My life commitments means I am generally posting at 8.30 after getting a 6yr old ready for the school run 🙂 I sometimes get the blogs done by around 7.45 but the vast majority of the time is closer to 8.30 when most members hit the site, so either publish live at that time or schedule it to go live at that time for consistency.

          • Ya Gary I got that point. Maybe you should do it as you already used to do it😊

  2. Within minutes 365 chopped a point off

  3. what’s the advice now 2 n/r’s means a best price of 7-2 ?

  4. I’m going to do £20 win @ 7/2

  5. Don’t you just love bookmakers, they must rank as the most cowardly bunch of lowlife there is out there.

  6. Changed my mind. I’m going to leave it

  7. cheers Gary, will more than likely back it on the show. Gives chance for the non-runners to filter through.

  8. 15/8 fav ?????

  9. by 10.33 down to 7 runners but now an hour later out to 5/2 and 3.85 on Betfair.

  10. Hi Gary

Fully appreciate this is one you can’t please all of the people all of the time, but the suggestion i would put forward is just to post the selection at 10am, with no price advised (you can record for results spreadsheet at that time of course). The reality is even if the price is available at whatever time the post is put up, most of us will be getting different prices anyway, due to restrictions, bookmaker closures, and spreading across different books. At 10am, most of the major players will have gone to BOGOF (for those who still have that facility!), and in terms of what price subscribers are prepared to take its every man for himself. I note there are not many complaints when the horse is a bigger price than advised, and it’s by no means unusual for selections to drift throughout the day anyway. As a “for instance” last week Ustath advised at 14s returns 16s, Billy Roberts advised at 8s returned 14/1. This will be swings and roundabouts of course, but equally we will all get different results regardless of message time. I’m not sure why everyone is fixated about getting bets on at the crack of dawn, and it’s likely to red flag accounts with bookmakers anyway, especially when bets are winning. If we run into a Hugh Taylor selection so be it, but equally he can tip another in the same race and we get a better price about ours, so again will even out over time. Today a prime example. most already committed to e/w on the understanding of three places, and by 9.45 that option had gone. Holding on till 10 may have seen members take alternative approaches befitting their level of risk, or in the case of Paul swerve it altogether for the day.

    • Fair suggestion Peter. I can post this for debate tomorrow. I know like myself however want to get bets on before getting off to work. If its 10 I’d probably forget to login and be kicking myself later 🙃. I’ve been posting at 8.30 for 5 years now and have members going back to that date who know me well. I have no problem readjusting pricing to 10.00am

      • Don’t change a running system. If you bet 8:30 for many years, don’t change it.

  11. Gary what about sending the tips out on WhatsApp say 08.30. then we would all get them at the same time and if some miss a price then that’s their fault

  12. Sorry I forgot to say you could send a message say 15 mins beforehand saying the tips will out at x o’clock

  13. Well, I am new here so do not expect you to take me seriously but:
    1) prices in the morning are sensitive, the later you bet the better. Of course, at the cost of the “cream” or high prices and lower ROI.
    2) from what I saw, the tips are hugely profitable at SP. So lets not be greedy. I am at Matchbook only and if I do not get the advised price, I wait for later how the prices move. Often, it drifts. Sometimes it does not, so I take it two hours before start. An interesting option would be to request the advised price for inplay…
    3) If there was an option to receive the tips at the same time, it would certainly trigger some alarm at bookies and bots. Working with the selections gradually might be better in this respect.
    4) I am not sure we can ask Gary to send the tips later or to change the way he works. The price for the tips and their value are enough for us to accomodate to his lifestyle and not vice versa.
These are just my 2 cents.

  14. Difficult to work out what to do with this one, sigh. It’s trading at 3.2 on Betfair currently, which most definitely makes it a “lumper”, which Gary wouldn’t normally go near. I have a £5 freebet available from the football. I think I’ll just stick that on it and leave it at that.

    • stick or twist Brian? they aren’t offering me my 5/1 stake money back as a cash out. I certainly wouldn’t be backing in a 2 place at this price.

  15. Very well judged ride by the young lass.

  16. Like u said Gary ……buses 👍

  17. So Gary, I just wanted to say nicely done 2 for 2 – what a great week this is going to be!

On the topic of posts, maybe I was a lucky today, but I got on at 7s not so long after the post – also I do prefer the roundabout 8:30 post time (please don’t change).

    Well done again 😁

    • I re-wrote this that many times, I meant to say Our Man in Havana looked in control all the way round

  18. What a difference that makes 2 the bank

  19. As Gary and others have said, a very well timed ride by Mollie Phillips.

With regard to the selections and when they should be made available to members, it’s not broken so no need to fix it.
