Horse Racing Selections – 22nd June 2021
Tuesday’s flat racing cards come Beverley, Ayr, Newbury & Brighton.
There’s one for members going in the (13.45) Crawford Society Handicap Class 5 over the extended 7f at Beverley.
The bus came early yesterday giving us back to back winning days. A little gloss taken off with the 3 non-runners, but will take that after that sequence of near misses.
Ref the forum yesterday, all comments were gratefully received and noted about time of posting etc. I think much has been made in the light of the shortening prices on the last two selections. However, we have enough drifters that go well at bigger prices to negate those in the long term.
Basically, the overall theme was if it ain’t broken, don’t fix it, so for consistency, on a weekday I will schedule the post to go live around 8.30am, I will not post up before.
Nonetheless, it maybe that I have completed the blog prior, so the initial price I post may be possibly incorrect, however that can be re-adjusted for spreadsheet purposes to the 8.30/9.00am pricing.
FYI the back up email always goes out at 9.00 am. That also automatically posts to Facebook, Twitter & Instagram for followers on those platforms. I did see suggestions for 10.00 am posting but feel that knowing many of you as I do as 5 year + members, you prefer your bets on before you scoot to work as myself.
A Whatsapp group was also mentioned, and whilst valid would give me too much work to manage who was in and out in terms of the membership rather than concentrating on tipping matters. Weekends will be consistent at 9.00am.

Well done with the last two selections Gary.It takes us back into profit on the turf flat this season i believe. i agree with leaving everything as it is. If people are not happy with what they are getting then they need to move on. I have noted a couple of names who have posted on here and know from past experiences of them elsewhere you will never please them whatever you do.
As to backing the extra place with Sky. Be careful. Yes you get the extra place but in races where they are paying extra place/s you do not get best odds guaranteed.

Ian you are correct, this has been the case with Sky since October. Depends on your level of risk, and BOG isn’t something i’ve had to worry about for a considerable time anyway, gave up with the various friends and relatives accounts as couldn’t be bothered with all the hassle of doing it. If the horse does drift markedly, i have a small top up win bet on Betfair to compensate. You also have the advantage they still pay first 4 even if goes down to 8 runners. Given the unpredictability of the weather last few days, it’s good to have that on your side. As i said, each to their own preference, just pointing it out for others to make their own calls
Gary, i know the feeling! In theory I have 5 skybet accounts, and across 4 of them combined i can have a total of 74p e/w :-). I’m expecting the only decent one i’ve got left to follow suit shortly! What i find really funny, is that they restrict you to say a maximum stake of 3p Lucky 15, and then you can’t place it because the minimum bet they accept is 5p units!!. Long since gave up being angry about restrictions, just think it’s amusing that spotty faced graduates with their excel spreadsheets and no idea how many legs a horse has, get to dictate liabilities. No wonder the Levy is massively down, even without Covid.
