Saturday’s racing selections come from the card at Doncaster.

  1. I know we talk about this everyday, but the drift today seemed more explosive than ever, has the fanbase multiplied or do we suspect the bookies have woke up sensitive this morning?

    • I just spotted on odds checker its been tipped

      • Hi Chris, I have a top line membership that I look to work to that I don’t believe would adversely affect prices on the whole. RTP did an article yesterday that attracted just over a handful of trialists. They are obviously ‘keen’ to get on and can bother the markets early doors. Maybe 10% will stay the course and the status quo redressed. However just been on oddschecker as you mentioned and they are both tipped up 🙁

  2. I’ve no idea what affects the market moves on here…

Some of the horses don’t move in price at all, your Beverley tip the other day for example, didn’t budge, and moved out a point or two from memory, before clipped in again late.

I think it can be if you just get unlucky with odd one that is tipped by a big hitter/monster following – so your first today is Andy Holding’s fault, but there are some monster twitter/telegram groups etc – I also wonder if there’s someone stealing the tips every now and then and sharing elsewhere in a big telegram group or something.

The other possibility… is those followers who only use Betfair Exchange, backing the horse on there within 30-60 minutes of you posting – there is no liquidity on the machine in most of the races you play in, not early in the day, and it takes a pittance to force those prices in on the machine, and all the bookies are linked to those prices and clip in accordingly. Maybe I’m talking nonsense with that view but anyone who uses betfair shouldn’t be going anywhere near it at least for 30 minutes after you post. I think even requesting prices /waiting to be matched, helps force down.

It certainly won’t be the new trial numbers! 🙂

    • Thanks for that Josh and agree looks like a coincidence today. It seems to have been a week on debating the price of winners and post timings. I will press on with the norm and hopefully the odd…..very odd 66/1 shot and a couple of future drifters will satisfy the troops 🙂

      • Yes, thanks Gary and Josh, very useful thoughts on the topic; I think we can safely say it was most likely that the swing was due to how tipped those horses where in the gen pop! But very interesting to hear all of this info – thank you.
