We welcome the turf back today with Doncaster’s traditional opening Lincoln Meeting.

After this pipeopener, the next meet is at Musselburgh next Saturday. It’s from the 5th that the season really kicks off with meets at Redcar, Ponty & Catterick.

Nothing for us to get involved with yet and will be keeping tabs on turf trackers for a couple of weeks or so. I’ve just a small nibble about Artistic Rifles going in the Spring Mile (14.35) for an opening day interest.

On the AW there’s meetings at Kempton and Wolves. At the former, a sole tracker and previous winner, Broken Rifle goes in the (16.30). Hasn’t won since that opening win for us and although bred for today’s trip, tackles 12f for the first time. There’s an alternative selection below for that race.

At Wolves, our double winner You’re Cool goes again for Derek Shaw in the (19.00). Hasn’t hacked in when up in C5 and with just wipes yer face odds a leaver with another previous winner Spurofthemoment lining up. With Jack Mitchell booked that one looks a worthy lumping priced favourite who looks to be a sole front runner here.

Any comments or thoughts just pop them in the forum at the bottom of the page. There’s nothing on the AW for Sunday, but will be taking an interest in those four decent 4+ handicaps on the 2nd day turf card at Donny.

Back on Monday morning just before 8.30 am.
