Horse Racing Selections – 4th May 2021

Tuesday morning and back on more terra firma than a caravan in Scarbados 🙂

A really enjoyable family trip where there was enough fine weather in Yaark-shire to keep everyone happy. Internet is good, but having called time on the all-weather, arrive back to the next turf being the famous Boodles May Festival starting at Chester tomorrow.

However, one I will be having a personal nibble on outside of the now finished AW season is NEZAR going at Wolves this evening (20.30). Backed LTO it certainly caused some debate in the forum regarding selection criteria, predominantly around the lack of form in Dean Ivory’s yard 🙂 Nonetheless, he did land a winner on the same day at Leicester and again with Stake Acclaim yesterday.

The 10yo missed the break LTO and then hit trouble in running. Originally noted here in a C5 in November when pipped home by an easy winning 3yo and Johnny Reb who followed up NTO. The veteran has slipped to 11 below last winning mark here in Jan 2020. Callum Hutchinson is up top and with the pace of Sword Exceed to come off, arguably the best handicapped in the line up over this C&D if putting his best foot forward. Good luck if having a nibble 🙂

Back in the morning with Chester just before 8.30 am.

For those on the new 2021/22 £1k to £10k Annual Challenge, the bank is £1033.51 and current full stakes, unless advised, £12.93 EW

The All Weather bank ended standing at +144 pts to 1pt EW stakes with over a 39% win/place rate.

Nick, you’re a very forgiving man, that was an absolute outrageously desperate selection. While being in a mini slump selection wise, to press up stakes on a horse who’s shown zero lately and a trainer with zero winners in 6 months, hold up and apprentice up makes me see that that Gary has a blinkered method of selection. I appreciate the pressure to post bets but some of these are just hopeful darts at best which the betting indicates. I’ve enjoyed my subscription here and picked up a few angles but the mechanical decision making is not for me. Best of luck to you all going forward

  9. Nice one Gary cheers 🍻

  11. Lovely welcoming winner, on at 11s with a r4.
