Horse Racing Selections – 5th April 2022

A sole meeting on the turf from Pontefract.

Nothing much of note again. The Class 5 (16.25) has Mr Strutter going. Will look at that one reverting back to the 7f trip despite Andrew Elliot being up top.

It’s early doors and another watching brief. There looks to be better with cards from Catterick, Notts, Lingfield and Kempton tomorrow.

Josh Wright’s service Racing To Profit received a positive mention in the forum yesterday. An ideal time with the Grand National meeting later this week to test drive this excellent NH service FOC for 30 days.

You can check that out HERE.

  1. What about form study? In the past i was a subscriber to the twice weekly Superform. The good old Royal Mail used to deliver it and you had a folder to put all the form in. Eddie Wood (Bredwinner fame)swore by how good it was and disciples like me used to get the highliners out and mark off the good runs with a green line. I suppose that was the advent of hot form races Once the internet arrived postal services went into the bin. What about today? There are dozens to choose from. I personally use Geegeez Gold and as said before i have been a member from the start and get it for £8 a month. Would i now pay over £30 a month for it if i was a fresher? i doubt it. It is a good service though. You can choose from Inform racing (i think), Raceform, Horseracebase (Josh Wright likes), Proform ( Ben Aitken likes), Racing Post, Sporting Life, Dataform, Racing Advisor run by Michael Wilding. I have had a look at this and found it ok but a little messy. The other one i use and it is free is Before The Off powered by Racing Post. Some great stuff on here in an easy readable form. One thing is certain any serious punter who just buys the Racing post paper or any other print form can only rely on luck to make anything.I would love to hear what top judges like Peter and Gary use. Perhaps those boffins Gary spoke of (who are you) might let us into not only what publications/services they use but how to find those elusive winners. I won’t hold my breath though.

  2. Hi Ian, did I hear mu name mentioned, the ones that I use Inform, Rating the races and Festival Trends

  3. As i thought not much interest in it. Thanks for the reply Peter. You appear to be a ratings man and system builder. I’ve had a look at inform and he sends me the free Friday deal.I would have been better looking at hieroglyphics as it seemed way beyond my comprehension. I have no idea about the rating the races, but use Gaultstats,Juicestorm and OLBG website for most festivals. All free. The Gaultstats are superb for Cheltenham. As for Mr Priestley. They tell me he is good at making calendars (Lol). I only look at people who know more than i do. Hence i use Gary, Ron Robinson, Snowy and Ben Coley. Gavin doesn’t fit in that category imo. Each to their own though….. I was trying to find the form students and what they use for their form study. It looks like Josh Wright and his staying chase form is tops on here.

    • Ian I have a nice little system that’s very easy to use to find daily qualifiers in 5 mins, yes 5 mins and throws up a few winners and if you do a bit of research on the selections it’s profitable, just email me for the simple rules

      • Hi Peter,

Your email address isn’t available from your profile, you would have to add it in,
