Horse Racing Selections – 7th November 2020

Saturday sees a sole meeting on the all weather at Chelmsford.

A hellish run at the moment, and while it’s not part of the planning, unfortunately goes with the territory and just have to move on. Hopefully, the ‘couldn’t tip a wheelbarrow, or ‘pick yer nose’ spell ….yeah we have heard them all, will soon pass and we can get back into that mode of 40-45% win/place rate which has been sadly lacking over the last month 🙁

Looking at this evening, Mick Channon gets this weeks selection Equipped back out (19.30). That one disappointed and burst a blood vessel in running the other night. Upped in class, looks a difficult ask – but we’ve been kicked in the nads in the past with these types 🙂

Earlier in the (18.30) another tracker, Phoenix Star goes for Jessica Macey. That one was one of our winter winners last year when with Stuart Williams and caught the eye LTO. He’s been backed in from 13/2 last night to 4’s in places and does show best form around Kempton. Has it to do against the progressive Gumra who improved on previous runs to win at over this 7f trip LTO.

We’ve just one from this evenings card.

  1. BOL PEEPS

  2. Trackers are not really cutting it Gary…As I have said so often, we need a slice of inside information to get back on track…I’ll give it another week before bailing 🙁

  3. Going through an “annoying” blip (I will keep the faith) BUT….would you be up for a punt at a lucky 15 e/w? No pressure (like you’d give a toss) but coul be fun/lucrative at small bets.

Cheers & keep on icking winners 🙂

  4. Anybody resorting to lucky 15’s are in serious trouble. These bets are loved by bookies, take it from somebody who has taken them.. Once we get that monkey David off our back watch the service go. Keep the faith, history repeats itself. I use a staking plan where i continually divide the bank by 40. So if you start with a £1000, your first bet is £25. I banked a grand and started again. I am now down to £28 a stake(ie £14 e/w) It will build back up before i dip into the winnings.

    • Interesting staking method Ian, can you reveal more? How did it perform on the losing run late July?

  5. No blog or selections today?

  6. I start off with a bank of £2000 and divide it by 40 which gives a £50 stake, which is £25 e/w for full odds or £12.50 e/w for half stakes. If you have a losing bet it takes it down to £1950 and you divide by 40 again to get the stake. If you have winners and it takes you over £2000 you can divide by 40 but i make £25 e/w my maximum stake. My bank is around 1120 now so i use £14 e/w stakes at the moment. Don’t forget i took a grand out so i am still in profit. Losing runs happen and you have to take them on the chin. In late July it performed exactly as it is doing now. It reduces the stake. Hope that makes sense.

  7. i’ve also not got the selection today. Is there a problem at my end or yours ?

  8. I resent your implication that I am in any way responsible for this appalling run of ABW at the moment Ian…we are encouraged to express our views at all times. If you are happy that your staking system can absorb a run of 16 losers then good luck to you. If we look back to the summer winners from Tim Easterby and Eric Alston, perhaps it’s significant that there was a bit more substance behind the selections than there is at the moment. Keep the faith yes, but there needs to be a sign of success somewhere soon

  9. I,m not happy that it can absorb sixteen losers but it can. The monkey off the back was a joke probably in poor taste so i apologise for that David. It was your doom and gloom that got me going to write it and then the bragging of winners after the result. You are correct that we should encourage people to express their views and i will miss you when/if you go.
