Saturday is Betfair Sprint Cup day at Haydock with cards at Ascot and Thirsk to back that up.

Down at Ascot, there’s just one handicap we’d ordinarily look at (17.05) with John Quinn taking Lord Riddiford down for a tilt at this. He’s been a bit below par this term, though probably in truth found out by the handicapper. However, he’s run some decent races in defeat without finding a paying slot and with William Buick booked just one above his highest winning mark could well run a double digit slot. The encouraging 5th at Goodwood on penultimate run has thrown up some decent efforts from runners coming out of that race since so that looks a decent piece of form. He’s drawn centre and likely to be one of the pace setters so will be interesting to see which rail Buick opts for. There’s solid 10’s across the board and four paying slots for anyone wanting to throw some small shrapnel outside of members bets?
