Horse Racing Selections – 9th July 2021

We finish the week with the start of two cracking race days at York on the Knavesmire. The John Smith’s Cup Meeting always holds a bit special being the first meeting I ever attended way back when it was the Magnet Cup 🙂

Outside of that there’s nothing of note at HQ whilst at Chepstow, Adrian Wintle quickly gets Wild Flower back out who we backed earlier this week (18.15). Hardly any price though and all to do against a lumping priced favourite in Bellevarde who has had his mark nicely run down following the AW.

It would be rude not to take on the nice handicaps at York this afternoon with more than 4 paying slots on offer and there’s a couple  from there 🙂

Afraid we were on the wrong Tinkler yesterday by deserting Singe Anglais 🙁 The price came back a little after writing and the 6’s would have been a welcome sequence breaker. Hopefully a few of you had a nibble on 3rd run?

Back on Saturday morning just before 9.00am.

For those on the new 2021/22 £1k to £10k Annual Challenge, the bank is £1194.81 and current full stakes, unless advised, £14.94EW

The 2021 Turf bank currently stands at +68.7 pts to 1pt EW stakes with over a 43% win/place rate.

The 2020/21 All Weather bank ended at +144 pts to 1pt EW stakes with over a 39% win/place rate.

  1. It’s definitely soul destroying at the moment.
Going to give it a miss for a while!

  2. Completely understand what you are saying Bill, and i thought (but didn’t action the thought) a little while ago and the very next day we had the 67/1 winner. Inevitably with the Win % as it is and variance (and to a degree same with Place winners) there will be ups and downs. For what its worth i very my stakes up and down in line with bank and that seems to feel more comfortable. Whatever you do, all the best!

  3. That’s a gamble Bill as Raymond says. Must admit disappointed in the 10% win rate, it needs to be closer to 15 but as long as you are getting the place prices the bank flexes and we hold our own 🙂
