I’m A Game Changer wins….BOG @ 7/1

A cracking Saturday for us with I’M A GAME CHANGER winning for the ‘right honorable’ Richard Johnson OBE 🙂 Philip Hobbs’ charge held price in the market going off at 13/2.

That was backed up with two better than ‘wipes yer face’ places with a 2nd from Landecker and 3rd for Ballybroker Breeze for our 3 selections.

For those on the £1k to £10k challenge….we’ve now over a 37% win/place strike rate …..our bank is now £1110.87 and current stakes are now £13.89 EW

……..this is what private members received at 8.00am in the morning…….

Saturday Newsletter – 29th December 2018

Firstly it must be congratulations to jockey Richard Johnson who has received an OBE in the New Year Honours list. The three time champion…and well on his way to his fourth, described it as ‘a huge honour and has come as a complete surprise’. He’s already ridden a winner for us through his partnership with Philip Hobbs and hopefully we can nab another when they’re down in our grade. They’re back out with that winner, Reikers Island in the (14.25) at Newbury this afternoon who is hiked a monster 13lb for that and we’ll see how that one goes with little value at 3’s.

Today’s cards have cut up quite badly for a Saturday….perhaps the drying going is contributing to that but there’s enough cards with over 8 to find three members selections below and Timeform coming from the Newbury feature.

At Kelso, Last weeks winner Treshnish is back out quickly in the (13.25) – it’s gone a 7 runner and offers no EW price though there’s no reason he shouldn’t improve for that run. It’s a competitive race with James Ewart’s Charmant a warm order and we’ll leave alone based on value.

Yesterday we had a better than wipes yer face paying 2nd home with Achill Road Boy at Catterick.

For those on the new £1k to £10k, current stakes are now £12.23 EW and the bank stands at £978.28

Today’s Selections

Newbury 13.50

A rare excursion into C2 but we’re on the ‘honoured man’ and the Richard Johnson/Philip Hobbs combo and I’M A GAME CHANGER who looks to well in on previous runs with Coeur Blimey and Subcontinent.

LTO was over an inadequate trip at Sandown in a C1 listed and the drying going should be an assist today so we’ll concentrate on that excellent 2nd on seasonal re-appearance at Chepstow as a pointer today with best EW 7/1 with bet365 and 3 paying places.

Newbury 13.50 – I’m A Game Changer

Doncaster 15.15

Old boy BALLYBROKER BOY has been campaigned in C1 chases and been a tad unlucky parting with his jock the last couple of times. One of those was when a saddle slipped and the stable still have belief in him.

They have been on the look out for some decent going to get him back out in a hurdle again and with the current drying conditions, look to have found an ok opportunity for him today.

Danny McMenamin gets a useful 7lb for one who looks well handicapped on old hurdling form going back to 2015!

We’re taking the best EW 15/2 with bet365 and 3 paying places.

Doncaster 15.15 – Ballybroker Boy

Kelso 15.10

There was enough to like about LANDECKER’S last run to suggest this course specialist could fill the frame again in this one.

Kit Alexander is by far the most experienced jocks (in terms of place record) and with the race likely to go of at a muddle then maybe able to take advantage of a falling weight in this grade.

Again it’s another of similar odds and we’re taking the best EW 7/1 with bet365 and 3 paying places.

Kelso 15.10 – Landecker
