King Athelstan wins…..BOG @ 14/1
It’s been a long time since we backed a Hector Crouch charge but he provided an early Christmas present on KING ATHELSTAN at Lingfield yesterday.
After disputing the early lead, Gary Moore’s runner managed to assert himself and finished strongly to beat one of the fancied ‘long term maidens’ in the field, Mobham.
There was a nice drift from the overnight 10’s to 14’s that we took around 10.00am before being backed into 8’s 🙂
For those on the £1k to £10k AW challenge….it’s a near 35% win/place strike rate and our bank is now £1394.90 with current stakes £17.43
……..this is what private members received at 8.00am in the morning…….

KING ATHELSTAN is a Brighton performer but that form does translate pretty well to Lingfield on the AW
He was a tad unlucky LTO here when challenging and short of room, would have finished a whole lot closer behind the 2nd placed & re-opposing Mistress Nellie (20+ race maiden).
He has a good record at this distance and Class and with Hector Crouch riding well of late and we’re taking the best 14/1 with SkyBet this morning with FIVE slots.
