King George VI Chase at Kempton Park Boxing Day.

David Pipe believes he has a serious horse to “go to war” with this season after Dynaste’s great run at the weekend.
And he has already decided the horse will run next in the King George VI Chase at Kempton Park on Boxing Day.
Dynaste, 4/1 to win the King George VI Chase, made a great start to his chasing career after becoming a high-class hurdler last season and the world may rapidly become his oyster.
Until you take on the established stars of the game, it is difficult to know exactly where you stand in the pecking order.

He ran a very brave second to the outstanding Cue Card, who was the horse for the moment on the day, but Dynaste can only get much better from here.
Pipe – if he wasn’t sure where he was with the horse before the race – was thrilled after he had taken on the likes of the victor, last season’s Gold Cup winner Bobs Worth, and Silviniaco Conti
Pipe said: “Until you take on the established stars of the game, it is difficult to know exactly where you stand in the pecking order.
“To finish a solid second on his first run of the season in such a strong contest was a great effort and shows that we have a horse to go to war with in all of the top staying chases.
“Connections of some of the other beaten horses were suggesting that the nature of the track was a factor in their defeats, although we all knew the characteristics before the race started so to blame that would seem a little odd.”

Colin Tizzard’s Cue Card ran away from his field with co favourites Bobs Worth and Silviniaco Conti well beaten at Haydock on Saturday.
The seven-year-old, who was competing at three miles one furlong for the first time, could now be set for a run out in the Gold Cup at the Cheltenham Festival, according to Tizzard.
And afterwards a tearful trainer broke down as he discussed his great horse and son Joe who had ridden him to perfection.
He said: “He will go for the King George and possibly the Gold Cup. It’s a wonderful day. I know it’s silly to cry but this was a real family success. We seem to have arrived.
“Who knows what will happen when he goes for his next race on Boxing Day because it’s all about which horse is right on the day. It’s as simple as that really.
“Cue Card was right on his game today but it’s a long long time until March although he could go for the big race.”
Tizzard explained that the horse who could carry all before him this season and next was once a total tearaway.
He said: “As a young bumper horse he wouldn’t relax and was a real runaway horse but he’s very easy to train now.”
Tizzard’s delighted son Joe said: “He found it all very easy out there and fair play to my Dad. When I went down for breakfast he just looked straight at me and said: ‘I don’t want negative thoughts about today.’
Cue Card is 6/1 to win the 2014 Cheltenham Gold Cup, while Long Run is priced at 25/1.
Today’s Racing comes from the polytracks at Lingfield and Kempton Park
Lingfield 14.35….a nice Class 2 race with nearly £20k in prize money on offer….we backed TINSHU last time out and she got no run from one furlong out. Given she has won this race twice she will be thereabouts at a best priced 11/2 with Betfred. However one for the longer shot ‘bets’ is True To Form. He has beaten our nominated, Tinshu in a Listed contest over track and trip and is not easily looked over with a record of nearly 40{70aeb3532cb26dbe277d25ea128ebb74de84b9bd22e1583b0eb1b73768e061f6} strike rate at track, trip & distance…..a best priced 20/1 with bet365
Kempton 19.00….. we had plenty about Lancelot Du Lac on the turf who was a revelation when switching back to 6f. However needs a quick break from an awkward draw and a short priced general offer of 7/4, but 2/1 with Skybet, we just side with ATHENIAN who is likely to be thereabouts after going close in Listed company in France last week…..a best EW price of 5/1 with BetButler
