Kingman proves leading miler

kingman-james-doyle

Yesterday, KINGMAN proved to be the leading miler and as expected, it was a case of ‘After the Lord Mayor’s Show’ yesterday following our 160/1 winning double from Tuesday’s two advices.

Let’s look to get back to winning ways on the third day of Glorious Goodwood where we have a couple of  ‘notebookers’ going plus one up at Ffos Las.

Yesterday saw KINGMAN establish himself as the countries leading miler when beating Toronado with a swift burst of pace.  Last years winner with Richard Hughes up top, attempted to give weight all round but is was Kingman who prevailed by a length for Jimmy Doyle.

“That’s what separates him from the others. He’s so versatile and has all the attributes to get you out of trouble. He’s got a wonderful turn of foot. I thought we’d go steady but not for as long as that.” James Doyle.

The next target could be The Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot, with PaddyPower offering Kingman at a best priced 4/7

14.05 Goodwood…..horses at the top of the handicap tend to go well with Goodwood’s tight turns negating any weight allowance so it bodes well for the classy Roseborg and it’s easy to see why he heads the market at 4/1 across the board.

However, not many horses land a 4-timer so we look elsewhere and one who went into our notebook was MADEED when winning his maiden here.

Brian Meehan’s charge followed that up with an excellent performance when finishing seventh from an unfancied low draw at Royal Ascot. MADEED offers us some value at a current best 7/1 with BetVictor.

16.50 Goodwood……IFWECAN has proved a little frustrating since winning up at Musselburgh, with poor Ascot and Ayr showings sanwiched with a good effort at Sandown. Hopefully Mark Johnston will have him right for a tilt at this and has been backed in from 10’s to a current best 13/2 with PaddyPower

17.25 Goodwood…..applying the classy top-weighted theory Tiger’s Tale and George Cinq look the ones to consider?

However, for a little more value WEAPON OF CHOICE looks to have every chance under Joey Haynes in the apprentice handicap.

A course and distance winner, can fill the frame at a best 12/1 with BetFred

Ffos Las 20.20.…..our notebooker, QUEST FOR MORE goes in just a five runner event, back to winning ways at Doncaster last time out, is poor value for us each way backers at just 3/1 with BetFred.
