Ligue 1: Sunday 14th September
Today brings a couple of interesting Ligue 1 clashes just a few games into the domestic French football season…..
Guingamp v Bordeaux Sun, 16:00 BST
Just 4 games into the season and we have unfancied pacesetter in Bordeaux. Under new manager Willy Sagnol, they have been a breath of fresh air with a new breed of football.
Pressing high up the pitch, they have taken all games to their opponents with a high intensity that has taken opponents unawares and has three wins and a draw to date.
Bordeaux are now top of the table and even now look capable of mounting a top-six challenge and today face lowly Guincamp who were in a relegation battle last season.
They look to have some mini crises going on at the moment with injury concerns in midfield about Lionel Mathis and Younousse Sankhare, plus last season’s top scorer Mustapha Yatabare, departed for Trabzonspor just before the transfer deadline!
The visitors are too big based on how the two teams have played and the team news going into the game. Either back Bordeaux to win or Draw No Bet.
Suggested Bet…..
It looks a nailed on Bordeaux to avoid defeat and at 2.0 Bordeaux Draw No Bet looks nailed on?
Evian v Marseille Sun, 20:00 BST
Despite failures to land significant summer targets, Marseilles have started remarkably well. Two week’s back they hammered Nice 4-0 and manager Marcelo Bielsa has his youngsters finally understanding his demands.
Today, they’re up against a weak Evian side who have failed to score in three of their opening four fixtures so another that look nailed on to reap some away day rewards?
Suggested Bet…..
Either back Marseille to win or -0&-0.25 Asian Handicap. With the Asian Handicap selection half your stakes will be returned if the game ends all-square or for the more cautious…..another Draw No Bet looks nailed on?
