Its the Longines Hong Kong International Races Meeting this weekend at Sha Tin so it feels like the Flat season is truly drawing to its conclusion.
It mark the end of an era as Richard Hannon bids to bow out from his enduringly successful training career with a final Group One winner with Sky Lantern (pictured) in the Group 1 mile event at 7.50.
He hands over the licence to son Richard Junior on the 1st January, but before that significant day his assistant is overseeing the 1000 Guineas, Coronation Stakes and Sun Chariot Stakes winner for her final start of the year.
She will have it all to do to provide Hannon with a winner but may find one better in French filly, Moonlight Cloud.

In the 6.00….the Vase (1m 4f) The Fugue is the favourite for John Gosden at a best priced 13/8 with SeannieMac. Well drawn in 3 should take all the beating as she dodn’t race until Royal Ascot in June so shouldn’t be burnt out?
Best EW shot at the meeting could be SIDE GLANCE in the Hong Kong Cup 8.30. He has been running well, winning at Flemington last time out and Jamie Spencer has the ride again and should go well at a best EW priced 25/1 with SkyBet.
BOOM!!!!…..another MEGA winner yesterday….ROYAL BAJAN advised at 10/1 hacked up very easily at Wolverhampton yesterday evening. That follows Tuesday’s selection….LITMUS, who ran out a MEGA 16/1 winner….Just 6 advised this week…..W6/4….2nd 13/8…..W 16/1…..4th 20/1…..2nd 2/1 & W 8/1 from 10’s…..
Today’s flat selection comes from the all weather at Wolverhampton……
Wolverhampton 19.00.….Fat Gary will be all the rage to carry on his sequence here but a short priced 5/2 with bet365. We look for a storming EW run from the outsider of the field, AUBRIETIA. Ideally drawn in stall 1, this filly is 5 from 14 on the polytrack and 3 from 10 on the course. She could spring a nice surprise here with just a small EW investment at a best 28/1 with SkyBet!!!!!
