The Moet and Chandon July Festival
The Moet and Chandon July Festival culminates today with the feature Darley July Cup and Bunbury Cup Handicap
The July Festival is East Anglia’s most stylish summer event, spectacular outfits and hats are everywhere to be seen on the magical July Course. We’ve not had many bets at the meeting so far and as suggested, Little Shambles failed to step up in class as our ‘notebook’ entry from yesterday’s selections.
Mixed bag in all yesterday, we managed to get 7/1 about The Might Yar who filled the frame, though never looked like winning, and Trader Jack gave everyone a run for their money and placed at 20/1, though Shaolin disappointed.
Crystal Lake sidestepped to go today and Eddiemaurice was a non-runner up at Chester.
Today’s notebook runners….
Newmarket 14.05….CRYSTAL LAKE has given us good returns this season and questions arise whether the handicapper has caught up with Ralph Beckett’s charge?
However at a best priced 11/1 with Skybet we think that good value for a place. Another to consider would be Richard Hannon’s Mutawathea who won a AWT maiden followed up with an impressive run at Sandown.
Hopefully he will act on the going and another with ew value at at a best 11/1 with Bet Victor.
York 14.55…..Three notebookers were to go up against each other at the advanced declarations stage but just SENNOCKIAN STAR remains.
Proven on the going and distance, despite being well raced this season……looks worth a small ew nibble at a best priced 28/1 with PaddyPower.
Big danger will come from Fallon on TARIKHI who is lightly raced and had good places at Royal Ascot and last season’s Newmarket July festival and again is backable ew at a best 12/1 with bet365
Newmarket 15.15…..our reliable GLENMOSS goes up against the recently disappointing FORT BASTION and the former has proven profitable on any surface this year and went close at Royal Ascot in the Victoria Cup.
With a best priced ew 14/1 with BetFred on offer we think that represents a sound ew bet?
Fort Bastion looks to be needing some cut and is priced out at 33/1 with Bet Victor, but watch out for Ayaar who was hampered when producing his run at Royal Ascot and will probably be made one of the favourites based on that run.
Newmarket 15.50…..SOLE POWER or SLADE POWER, you choose!!!
The former just shades Aidan O’Brien’s duo but the latter gave us a good priced win last time out in the Kings Stand Stakes and remains the value pick of the pair at a monstrous 20/1 with Bet Victor, with 14’s and 16’s elsewhere?
Ascot 16.50……MADEED sidesteps….
Got an opinion on this story, what are YOU backing TODAY??…….
