Monaco v Arsenal: Champions League 2015
UEFA Champions League action with Monaco v Arsenal tonight with the gooners needing to score at least three goals to stay in the Champions League after losing the last 16 home leg 3-1.
Defender Gabriel Paulista (hamstring) and Mikel Arteta (ankle) have returned from injuries, but Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (hamstring) and Jack Wilshere (ankle) are out.
“We have experience, the desire and belief we can do it,
“We want to give everything to have the greatest performance on the pitch.”Arsene Wenger.
No team in the Champions League have ever overturned a two-goal deficit away from home in the second leg. Ajax, in 1969, were the last to achieve the feat in the European Cup.

Preview…..
Arsenal can’t possibly be as naive as they were at the Emirates when Arsene Wenger committed tactical hara-kiri, playing a top heavy 4-1-5.
His team defended calamitously and Olivier Giroud missed a whole host of presentable chances on a night that leaves their Champions League hopes seriously compromised.
Only 1.8{70aeb3532cb26dbe277d25ea128ebb74de84b9bd22e1583b0eb1b73768e061f6} of teams have gone through after losing the first leg at home 3-1 since 1970-71 and there have been 164 such cases. No wonder the gooners are trading at around 8.0 to qualify.
Monaco have grown in confidence since and why not. The injured – notably in defence – are back, strengthening a rearguard that has kept 25 clean sheets in all competitions this season and has conceded only twice in the Champions League.
They’re becoming more precocious going forward as well. Since their visit to London, they’ve scored six in their last two league games. It’s also worth bearing in mind that Monaco haven’t lost at the Stade Louis II since September.
In their last two league games – a 3-0 win over Bastia and a 3-1 win at Evian – they have played some fluid attacking football but left themselves more open than usual at the back.
Arsenal have to score at least three times to stand a chance of going through so at some point this game is likely to open up. And for all their failings in the first leg Arsenal are clearly good enough to trouble the Monaco back line.
The hosts will try to keep things tight for as long as possible – but if and when Monaco concede, we could see some nerves in the home ranks. Looking at over 2.5 goal at 2.04 could be the bet here?
Suggested Bets……
Arsenal need to score and they possess the firepower to do so, and should in hindsight have got more than one when they met last month.
