Lingfield and Carlisle to consider today with Timeform below for the former.

At Carlisle (14.30), Wig Wam Wiggle went unbacked LTO on first run since selection providing ‘sods law’ as Micky Hammond’s charge found the improvement to win the Newcastle. That was a frustrating omission and is on around 5’s for a follow up. It’s a competitive C4 and upped in trip needs to find a bit more today against the likes of Petite Ganache who was also a strong looking Newcastle winner LTO.

Another of Hammond’s of note going in the next (15.00) is Knockamona – this one likes to get stuck in over 3m and deeper going so likely to find this drying going a bit quick. He has shown good fitness so far this term and as soon as he gets some heavy going we’ll be looking for a nibble. Sue Smith has Absolutely Dylan in this one and looks more like a 120’s rated charge and should find improvement of the back of a break. It’s a race which she has won four of the last seven renewals and this one rates one for the lumpers.

1.45 Sky Sports Racing Sky 415 Standard Open National Hunt Flat (5) 2m

Timeform Top Rated:
111 7. POUR JOIE Ian Williams Aidan Coleman
107 6. ARKYN Alan King Wayne Hutchinson
105 3. LANTIERN Harry Whittington Nico de Boinville

Analyst’s Verdict:
Pour Joie displayed a striking turn of foot when making a winning debut at Warwick last month, and with this test of speed switched to polytrack expected to be in his favour, he could well follow up. Arkyn won a C&D contest last time and is second choice.

2.15 freetipsatlingfield.co.uk Maiden Hurdle (4) 2m

Timeform Top Rated:
137 3. SMITHS CROSS Michael Scudamore Brendan Powell
125 8. KARAKORAM Grace Harris Liam Heard
115p 1. ALRIGHTJACK Jamie Snowden Gavin Sheehan

Analyst’s Verdict:
Smiths Cross has done nothing wrong in defeat in 2 starts over hurdles this season and can gain a deserved win back from a break. Karakoram looks the main danger ahead of Topofthecotswolds.

2.45 bettingrant.co.uk Handicap Chase (5) 2m7f110y

Timeform Top Rated:
112 2. WAIKIKI WAVES Gary Moore Jamie Moore
111 6. BIG TIME FRANK Polly Gundry James Best
110 10. WHAT LARKS Dr Jeremy Naylor Tom Cheesman (5)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Big Time Frank did little wrong last time and is taken to gain reward for consistency. Waikiki Waves and The Boss’s Dream rate the principal threats.

3.15 Free Bets At Betting Rant Novices’ Hurdle (4) 2m3f110y

Timeform Top Rated:
133 2. DOMINATEUR Oliver Sherwood Gavin Sheehan
107p 1. EYE IN THE SKY John E. Long Mattie Batchelor
84 4. JOG ON Nicky Martin Brendan Powell

Analyst’s Verdict:
Dominateur sets a decent standard and can make it fourth time lucky in this sphere. Exeter bumper winner New Age Dawning may emerge as the chief threat ahead of Destinee Royale.

3.50 tipstars.tips Surrey National Handicap Chase (3) 3½m178y

Timeform Top Rated:
140§ 7. BOB FORD Alastair Ralph Lee Edwards
139+ 11. COURT FRONTIER Christian Williams Tom O’Brien
138 1. PEARL SWAN Peter Bowen James Bowen

Analyst’s Verdict:
Royal Tara was only collared in the dying strides at Chepstow last time and, with this marathon trip expected to be within his range, the lightly-raced 10-y-o may well be the answer. Stamina is no issue where Bob Ford is concerned and he merits respect on the back of a solid display at Uttoxeter, while Pearl Swan is also shortlist material and Lac Sacre could go well at a price.

4.25 Sky Sports Racing Virgin 535 Mares’ Handicap Hurdle (4) 2m

Timeform Top Rated:
125 7. RIVIERE ARGENTEE Milton Harris Paddy Brennan
124 3. SHE’S GINA Seamus Mullins Daniel Sansom (5)
123 1. ALL MY LOVE Pam Sly Jordan Nailor (7)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Probably not a race that will take much winning and Riviere Argentee can land the spoils after good efforts in second at Kempton and Plumpton. Lostnfound is feared most ahead of All My Love.

4.55 Tts Networks “Grassroots” Hunters’ Chase (6) 2½m

Timeform Top Rated:
132? 3. NET D’ECOSSE J. P. Owen Mr Jack Andrews (3)
127 2. FULL TROTTLE Miss L. Thomas Mr Sam Lee (7)
118§ 4. NEWSWORTHY J. H. Henderson Mr Frederick Henderson (7)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Full Trottle lacks a recent run, but he’s built up a very good record in this discipline and he may well enhance it here, particularly with doubts surrounding Net d’Ecosse at present. Excitable Island is perhaps the main danger.
