A second winner of the day with a humongous price about MUATADEL under Zak Wheatley. I can’t remember John Wainwright having much success as a sprint trainer but will have a drink to him tonight 🙂

That’s really got us moving in the right direction despite the quarter stakes challenge bet going off at SP 40/1 

 

 

For those on the new 2021/22 £1k to £10k Annual Challenge, the bank is £1426.63 and current full stakes, unless advised, £17.83 EW

The 2021 Turf bank currently stands at +87 pts to 1pt EW stakes with over a 42% win/place rate. 

The 2020/21 All Weather bank ended at +144 pts to 1pt EW stakes with over a 39% win/place rate.

You can call me bonkers in the morning….nonetheless am going to have a little nibble about one at a monster price in this one who was in the tracker 2 years back. This looks a very ordinary looking C6 with the market leaders hardly inspiring to back up on recent efforts.

MUATADEL was a ‘serial placer’ when with Roger Fell. Yorkshire handler, John Wainwright then took him following his selling win on seasonal debut at Beverley in July 2019.

Without a win since, albeit placed 5 times/16 runs, the gelding is a ‘consistent’ placing dual-purpose horse who seems at home on any surface. He’s was generally in the mixer off mid 60’s (23 wins/places from 48 runs) when with Roger Fell.

Not seen out much last term, his mark has tumbled significantly on the back of an unspectacular autumn AW season. However his run at Wolves LTO off a break gives some optimism for catching him early at a decent ‘placing price’.

Whilst a distance behind in 5th in that one, did have a lot of work to do to get across from trap 11 to the rail. He then hit a bit of traffic before running on late. Campaigned at the 7 and 8 for this yard and drops back to previous sprinting duties and Zak Wheatley makes him look very paperweighted if putting his best foot forward.

There’s across the patch 66’s and regulation 4 slots to record for a smaller nibble.
