Mukhadram proves game again

Mukhadram proves game

Our selection Mukhadram proves game again with another resilient and battling performance in the Qipco King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot yesterday…

Following up our Coral-Eclipse big 16/1 winning shot, we said that he’d be up to this at a value each way place and didn’t disappoint our each way backers when returning in third at a nice priced 12/1 yesterday.

Mukhadram was the first to strike for home for Dane O’Neil but all the while, Taghrooda was eating into the lead and hit top gear to sail past to our charge and Telescope to an impressive three length victory. .

Jockey Paul Hanagan was delighted he made the right choice,

“It’s such a buzz, something you never think would happen. I’m just so delighted for the whole team – a great job.

“They went hard and I didn’t plan to sit that far back, but you can only go as fast as you can and she adapted really well. If you take a look at her she’s hardly had a race – she’s so laid-back.

“It’s an amazing feeling to win this race and I’ve got to thank Sheikh Hamdan for giving me the opportunity to ride her,” he continued. “I actually heard the roar as I headed up the straight – I’d never heard a crowd react like that before.

“I was probably further back than I liked to have been in the early part of the race as they went so quick but she can only go as quick as she can, so I had to be patient.”

“I was quite confident when we got alongside Ryan as I know she stays well and she’s galloped all the way to the line. It’s brilliant for myself and also my family. I’ve got to thank the whole team as, without them, she wouldn’t even get here.

“This season has been amazing and that just capped it all off. It was such a buzz and something that you never think would happen. The reception she is getting is just out of this world.

“I have to make a very tough decision and Mukhadram ran very well – I am so proud of him. I am so delighted for the whole team, it’s brilliant, a great job. It feels like she has hardly had a race, she is so laid back and it’s so important to have a temperament like that.”

Today’s Racing……

We’ve a couple of highlighted ‘notebookers’ going…..PLUS we’ve also got that new assist in today’s racing, a PREMIUM TIMEFORM racecard for the 15.05 at Ascot, the GL Events Owen Brown Handicap….you can get that card…….HERE

15.05 Ascot…..none of these have ever come onto our radar through the notebook but the softening conditions may just catch a few of these out. Retirement Plan should have enough class on paper to win this despite a less than convincing re-appearance run. However, we maybe tempted for a little each way about the outsider, David O’Meara’s FATTSOTA for who Ryan Moore has been booked. Likely to set the pace for stablemate Chancery, he may just find himself up there at the finish with a good place shout at 14/1 with SkyBet.

15.30 Pontefract……GUISING’S form has remained a mystery since winning a couple of events impressively last year. Possibly expectations were too high and after being tried in Class 2 & 3 events reverts back to a Class 4 on the turf for the first time in over a year. Again it’s a little cautious each way value at 16/1 with Bet Victor.

16.15 Ascot.RAISE YOUR GAZE…goes in this little 6 runner but has been slaughtered with a 10lb hike after hacking up at Sandown last time. That may just ruin his win chance but second place may not be beyond him as there looks improvement in him and a best available 13/2 with BetButler.
