1.55 Muhaarar Rosemary Stakes (Listed) (1) 1m
Timeform Top Rated:
118 6. PROMISING RUN Saeed bin Suroor James Doyle
117+ 17. WILAMINA Martyn Meade Fergus Sweeney
116 11. MANABOO Charlie Appleby William Buick
Analyst’s Verdict:
Wilamina looked potentially smart prior to disappointing at Haydock last month, though she’s worth forgiving that run, and this lightly-raced filly will be very competitive if resuming her progress. Promising Run arrives fresh off a Group 3 success in Turkey and has to be feared with her yard back among the winners, while Laugh Aloud and Ashadihan merit respect also in a wide-open contest.
2.30 Princess Royal EBF Nayef Stakes (Listed) (1) 1½m
Timeform Top Rated:
124 2. JOURNEY John Gosden Frankie Dettori
120p 6. BEAUTIFUL MORNING Luca Cumani Andrea Atzeni
119 1. BEAUTIFUL ROMANCE Saeed bin Suroor William Buick
Analyst’s Verdict:
Journey took this race 12 months ago impressively prior to a fine runner-up effort in the Group 1 Fillies and Mares Stakes at Ascot. She looks to be taking a similar path once more, and is the one to be with. Beautiful Morning remains with untapped potential on her return to action, whilst Lady of Camelot and Shall We are others to note.
3.05 Shadwell Rockfel Stakes (Group 2) (1) 7f
Timeform Top Rated:
126p 3. FAIR EVA Roger Charlton Pat Smullen
113 6. NATIONS ALEXANDER Richard Hannon Pat Dobbs
113 8. SPAIN BURG X. Thomas-Demeaulte Frankie Dettori
Analyst’s Verdict:
Fair Eva remains a filly to keep on side despite failing to land the odds in the Lowther at York, and she can resume winning ways with this extra 1f expected to suit. Exmouth is open to significant improvement following her maiden win at Yarmouth and is feared most from a yard that has won this 3 times.
3.40 Shadwell Joel Stakes (Group 2) (1) 1m
Timeform Top Rated:
128 2. CUSTOM CUT David O’Meara Daniel Tudhope
127 4. FORGE Sir Michael Stoute Pat Smullen
125 6. NATHRA John Gosden Frankie Dettori
Analyst’s Verdict:
There’s a suspicion that most of these are not as good as they once were but Nathra produced a career best when runner-up in the French 1000 Guineas 2 starts back and makes the most appeal going forward. Forge is the other one whose best days aren’t behind him.
4.15 Derrinstown EBF Stallions Maiden Stakes (4) (D.I) 7f
Timeform Top Rated:
82p 5. NO NOT AGAIN Richard Hannon Pat Dobbs
74 6. ODE TO PARIS Ed Dunlop Pat Cosgrave
Analyst’s Verdict:
Alfarris and Red Label are a pair of expensively-bought, well-bred newcomers and could be the pair to focus on, the former narrowly preferred with his yard enjoying a fantastic spell. No Not Again showed ability on debut and surely has more to offer.
4.50 Derrinstown EBF Stallions Maiden Stakes (4) (D.II) 7f
Timeform Top Rated:
98p 9. VIA SERENDIPITY Hugo Palmer Ryan Moore
94p 1. CENTURY DREAM Simon Crisford Robert Havlin
74 7. SASSOFERRATO Alan Bailey F. M. Berry
Analyst’s Verdict:
Century Dream and Via Serendipity both hold Group 1 entries and look the pair to focus on, Simon Crisford’s once-raced colt narrowly preferred. Mudallel and Quloob are newcomers to keep an eye on.
5.25 Mukhadram Godolphin Stakes (Listed) (1) 1½m
Timeform Top Rated:
127p 6. DAL HARRAILD William Haggas Pat Cosgrave
126 4. FURIA CRUZADA John Gosden Frankie Dettori
125 1. BARSANTI Roger Varian Andrea Atzeni
Analyst’s Verdict:
Dal Harraild is a progressive 3-y-o who ran his best race to date when third in a typically-competitive Ascot handicap last time and he looks well up to making his mark at this level. Barsanti has improved in leaps and bounds this year and he looks sure to be involved again.
5.55 Shadwell Farm Handicap (Silver Cambridgeshire) (2) 1m1f
Timeform Top Rated:
105 1. DAILY BULLETIN John Gosden William Buick
104 2. BRIGLIADORO Philip McBride Phillip Makin
103 21. MITHQAAL Michael Appleby Danny Brock
Analyst’s Verdict:
Last year’s second Squire has likely had this as his target for some time and if the fitting of a tongue tie has a positive effect he could go one better. Craftsmanship has caught the eye the last twice and is interesting, while Mithqaal, Laurence and Brigliadoro also make the shortlist.
