A cracking opening winner for the 2021/2 £1k to £10k Challenge. Dylan Hogan got ENGRAVE home by outgunning the short priced favourite Eaglesglen at the death.

Advised at 15/2, most of you looked to get the early 7’s and 6’s before the Avorisk Et Perils defection shortened the price with the consequent 15% R4 deduction. Nonetheless, good to get on the boards early 🙂

 

For those on the £1k to £10k Annual Challenge, its currently over a 100% win/place rate and our bank is £1047.81 with an ROI of over 4.7% and current stakes £13.10 EW

The All Weather bank currently standing at +131 pts to 1pt EW stakes with over a 39% win/place rate.

Today’s Selections

 

Chelmsford 16.50

Channel Packet is as solid as you like in this class, and with Ben Curtis up top a worthy 2nd favourite behind Eaglesglen. However, right up to highest winning marks worth taking on, with the favourite also having to prove himself  coming back off a 100+ day break.

Julia Fielden’s ENGRAVE was backed LTO for some place money who is still a relatively unexposed 5yo. Has already won a couple of races here over C&D pre-Xmas. That sequence was highlighted by improving RPR’s, including her best effort, 2l behind our winner that day Subliminal at Lingfield.

Following that, ran at Southwell twice on the fibresand at extended trips. The first followed home Philip Kirby’s Mr Carbonator who made all, though our selection finished well from a wide draw. On penultimate run wasn’t seen to best effect when stepped up again to the 12 behind Bay Of Naples.

However, LTO here gave an excellent run from a very wide draw where having to force the pace. This evening with those two market principals should get a better run race from a better placed berth.

Dylan Hogan again gets 3 off and is the regular pilot with 15/2 with bet365 and regulation 3 slots this morning.
