Phil Taylor fires title reminder to warn his Premier League rivals that he is close to top form, having moved to within a point of the play-off places with a third win in four matches.
Taylor saw off Robert Thornton 7-4 in Cardiff to continue his revival, having started the Premier League campaign with four losses in five matches.

And his latest success saw Taylor move up to fifth place in the standings, with Adrian Lewis, Raymond van Barneveld, Peter Wright and Michael van Gerwen above him.
A rejuvenated Taylor told the PDC website: “The top four will start to get nervous now because I’m getting there. I’m still not 100 percent, but I’ve got to keep working on it and it’s all coming together.
“I’m looking forward to the next few weeks and I’m enjoying it at the moment.”
Taylor can now be backed at 9/4 to win the Premier League title for a seventh time, with defending champion Van Gerwen 11/10 and Van Barneveld 10/1.
Meanwhile Judgement Night in Cardiff saw Wes Newton join Australian ace Simon Whitlock in suffering relegation from the remainder of the competition.
Newton faced a winner-takes-all clash with Dave Chisnall and lost out to his local rival 7-5 on the night.
