Today’s Salisbury Timeform…

13.55 Bathwick Tyres Maiden Auction Stakes (5) (D.I) 6f

Timeform Top Rated
79p 7. RACQUET Richard Hannon Pat Dobbs
76p 1. CLIVE CLIFTON David Evans John Egan
63p 5. SWANTON BLUE Ed de Giles William Twiston-Davies

Analyst’s Verdict: In a maiden lacking strength in depth, the scene is set for Racquet to open his account. The Pastoral Pursuits colt shaped with plenty of promise on his introduction here and, with an extra furlong to travel this time, he can enhance his yard’s already impressive strike-rate with 2-y-os at this course (24{70aeb3532cb26dbe277d25ea128ebb74de84b9bd22e1583b0eb1b73768e061f6} in recent seasons). Newcomer Magic Strike and Clive Clifton can fill the places.

14.25 Bathwick Tyres Maiden Auction Stakes (5) (D.II) 6f

Timeform Top Rated
97p 2. GALILEO GOLD Hugo Palmer Martin Harley
87p 1. BLACKLISTER Mick Channon Ryan Moore
81 9. ZEEONEANDONLY David Evans John Egan

Analyst’s Verdict: There was much to like about Galileo Gold‘s debut effort at York and, with improvement on the cards, he is confidently expected to strike for the in-form Hugo Palmer yard. Blacklister also shaped well first-time out at Leicester and is clear next best ahead of Zeeoneandonly, while newcomers Skeaping and Andar are worth a market check.

14.55 Bathwick Tyres Maiden Stakes (5) 6f212y

Timeform Top Rated
80p 3. HOLLAND PARK Richard Hannon Cam Hardie (3)
78 7. SIRHEED Richard Hannon Frankie Dettori
77p 6. SHELL BAY Richard Hannon Pat Dobbs

Analyst’s Verdict: Richard Hannon holds a strong hand and Shell Bay could prove to be the pick of his quintet. The Hard Spun colt did well to finish as close as he did in a Lingfield handicap recently and the fitness edge he holds over stablemate Holland Park, who shaped well on his sole start as a juvenile, could make the difference. Ziggurat will also be of interest if the market speaks in his favour.

15.25 Sharp’s Doom Bar Handicap (5) 5f

Timeform Top Rated
87 6. REFLATION Richard Hannon Pat Dobbs
86 5. STAR FIRE Roger Charlton George Baker
84 9. MAGICAL DAZE Sylvester Kirk Dane O’Neill

Analyst’s Verdict: Star Fire and Reflation could be the pair to concentrate on. The latter’s turn is surely near judged on his latest effort at Chepstow and he isn’t passed over at all lightly. However, Star Fire appeared to find things happening too quickly over the 5f at Goodwood last time and, back on a more conventional track, she earns the vote. Magical Daze is most interesting of the remainder.

15.55 EBF Stallions Breeding Winners Margadale Fillies’ Handicap (4) 1m1f198y

Timeform Top Rated
98 6. STOCKHILL DIVA Brendan Powell Liam Keniry
97 10. VANISHING Ed Walker Antonio Fresu
95 1. PUZZLE TIME Giles Bravery Adam Kirby

Analyst’s Verdict: Stockhill Diva raised her game when collared close home at Newbury on her reappearance in May. The third has franked that form since and she is awarded a narrow vote over Sweet Selection, who looked a different proposition when readily getting the job done at Goodwood last month. Puzzle Time and Vanishing make up the shortlist.

16.25 Goadsby Handicap (5) 1½m

Top Rated
87 1. FELIX FABULLA Hughie Morrison Ryan Moore
86 3. CHAUVELIN Roger Charlton George Baker
85? 4. DARK DIAMOND Julia Feilden Adam Beschizza

Analyst’s Verdict: Felix Fabulla and Chauvelin may be the pair to concentrate on with doubts hanging over the rest, the first-named given the nod to build on his narrow defeat in first-time cheekpieces over this trip at Lingfield in May.

16.55 Molson Coors Handicap (6) 6f212y

Timeform Top Rated
73 10. PERFECT BOUNTY Clive Cox Adam Kirby
71 1. WESTERN PLAYBOY Sylvester Kirk Gary Mahon (7)
69+ 12. ST PAUL’S SQUARE Chris Gordon Pat Dobbs

Analyst’s Verdict: Royal Normandy offered a good deal more encouragement in maidens when a staying-on fifth over shorter at Leicester in May. This stiffer test will suit and he is worth siding with to make a winning start in handicaps. Speculator and Castanea are of similar ilk and may pose bigger threats than Perfect Bounty, who has to prove her effectiveness on turf.

17.25 CGA Racing Excellence Apprentice Handicap (5) 6f

Timeform Top Rated
90 3. LEAD A MERRY DANCE Sylvester Kirk Josh Quinn (5)
89 7. GUNG HO JACK John Best Rhiain Ingram (7)
87 11. LITTLE BIG MAN Brendan Powell Richard Condon (7)

Analyst’s Verdict: Lead A Merry Dance is thriving at present and has sound prospects of completing the hat-trick, possibly at the expense of Smart Salute, who is likely to be a lot sharper for his respectable reappearance effort at Doncaster in May. Gung Ho Jack and Oasis Spirit are others worth considering.
