Declaration Of War Breeders Cup

Declaration Of War ………well drawn for Breeders Cup Classic

Draw news for the  Santa Anita Breeders Cup where the anticipated draw proceedings have been taking place. Keep checking in for Breeders Cup daily updates.

DECLARATION OF WAR secured an ideal pitch from which to launch his challenge on the 30th running of the Breeders’ Cup Classic when he drew stall five at the post-position ceremony on Monday.

The Aidan O’Brien-trained challenger will have likely front-runner Moreno inside him in four and second favourite Mucho Macho Man (five) on his outer, with last year’s winner Fort Larned breaking from seven for the $5 million event.

Planteur is similarly well positioned in three with favourite Game On Dude in stall nine.

Declaration Of War will be jockey Joseph O’Brien’s first ride in the Classic and his only ride in any of the 14 Breeders’ Cup races on Friday and Saturday.

The Juddmonte International winner is rated a 10-1 chance on the Santa Anita morning line while Planteur, who will race with a hood for the first time, is 20-1.

Ryan Moore will have to negotiate a path from the inside gate after the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf favourite Dank was drawn on the inside in gate one of a ten-runner field for Saturday’s race at Santa Anita.

Sir Michael Stoute’s Beverly D Stakes winner remains 2-1 market leader for the $2 million contest after Monday’s post-position draw, where the Andre Fabre-trained Romantica (Maxime Guyon) will start from box two.

Europe’s leading turf contenders for the 30th Breeders’ Cup have generally avoided the worst of the draw at the two-day meeting.

Post-position draws

Breeders Cup Entries

Let’s hope the weather’s a bit nicer today after yesterdays forced abandonments……

Yarmouth 14.10…..TED’S BROTHER could provide good EW value at a current 20/1 with bet365. He runs plenty of races and rarely a bad one…perhaps this isn’t his optimum winning trip of 7f, he has won twice over a mile and looks good value here. Magique looks the best of the likely favourites to be filling the frame. Proven on the going, this is a slight drop in class and still at EW value of  5/1 with PaddyPower

Over the jumps…..

Ffos Las 14.00…….THE LAST BRIDGE is the one to beat here if stripping fit first time out this season, a winner over the course and still well handicapped is still an EW saver at a best priced 4/1 with Bet  Butler
