Alleluia rings around the ABW throng as SECRET POTION wins under Trevor Whelan. That was the longest wait ever and thanks for you continued support through that latest tough run that set an unwanted record for ABW.

The advised 12/1 price held and just glad we held that one with that bit of bumping around at the death. Must admit I wasn’t confident when he looked under pressure from a long long way out but hey ho, will take that one gladly 🙂

 

For those on the new 2021/22 £1k to £10k Annual Challenge, the bank is £1112.80 and current full stakes, unless advised, £13.91 EW

The 2021 Turf bank currently stands at +48.7 pts to 1pt EW stakes with over a 42% win/place rate. 

The 2020/21 All Weather bank ended at +144 pts to 1pt EW stakes with over a 39% win/place rate.

Today’s Selections

 

Lingfield 18.05

A strong looking well drawn favourite Moosmee goes here under talented claimer Tyler Heard. Simon Dow has a decent track record here and with the yard going well to press looks a justified lumping priced favourite.

Outside of this one and considering trackers, Liam Bialey’s Quanah ran up second here LTO over the 5f. Does look to like bottomless going and whilst the stable are struggling, this one and the yards Stronsay have continued to show decent form. However, with the yard hardly ever scoring out of Scotland and the experience with Lagenda LTO will wait till this one heads back north.

Red Bravo has been an AW tracker who ran up well at Chepstow LTO but still shows best on that surface and more to my liking is SECRET POTION. Ron Harris’s charge ran up 3rd in that same Chepstow race early this month.

In 2019 he had a win at Kempton and two wins on the turf that pushed him to high 60’s and he entered the turf back on a good mark this season. As a consequence scored at Bath coming from off the pace from a wide draw.

Just 3 over that last winning mark but south or previous wins, outside of the out of form course specialist Napping, does hold the best winning form over the last couple of seasons.

Avoiding a low draw, Trevor Whelan is doing the steering and a pilot in form who has a decent amount of experience around here. There’s a best 12’s and FOUR slots from most this morning.
