Sunday Newsletter – 17th February

There’s three trackers out on Sunday at Market Rasen and two of them go H2H in the  (14.45) however has gone a 6 runner. Obvious choice is Venetia Williams trained Loughouseignorina who won LTO after tipping over at Wetherby when going well. A 7lb rise shouldn’t really stop this one if running to that level and on around 3’s for the lumpers.

The other noted being Iain Jardine’s Keep The River who ran a tad green at Newcastle on third handicap appearance. However, he was looked to have got the hang of it on the second circut and was doing best at the finish in pressing winner Derriana Spirit all the way to the line. He’s on around 5’s but being a 6 runner there’s only 2 slots to go at.

Our third tracker is our members pick below – Timeform is for Navan and we’ll be back in the morning around 8.00am.

1.50 Ladbrokes Where The Nation Plays Maiden Hurdle 2m

Timeform Top Rated
128 8. RAYA TIME Henry de Bromhead Rachael Blackmore
107p 7. OUTSIDE THE RING Neil McKnight A. W. Short (3)
106 5. MON STORM Victor Wilson D. J. McInerney (3)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Raya Time failed to land the odds at Fairyhouse last time but he pulled too hard that day and this represents another good opportunity. Dumhach Thra caught the eye on hurdles debut at Naas and is one to note along with hurdledebutants Milan Native and Behind The Curtain.

2.20 Ladbrokes Ireland Boyne Hurdle (Grade 2) 2m5f

Timeform Top Rated
169 5. OFF YOU GO Charles Byrnes M. P. Walsh
168 4. CRACKING SMART Gordon Elliott J. W. Kennedy
166 1. COQUIN MANS W. P. Mullins P. Townend

Analyst’s Verdict:
This represents a step up in class for Off You Go but he can take it in his stride. Indeed, he left the distinct impression that moving into graded company would hold no terrors when landing the valuable Ladbroke Hurdle for the second year running at Leopardstown 15 days ago. With Coquin Mans and Cracking Smart both on recovery missions, Bachasson is nominated as the main danger.

2.55 Adare Manor Opportunity Handicap Hurdle 2m

Timeform Top Rated
139 7. BRITISH ART R. K. Watson B. Browne (2)
138 2. ADMIRAL BRIAN Eamon O’Connell E. O’Connell (4)
136 6. LA BELLA VIDA Miss Elizabeth Doyle J. P. O’Sullivan (4)

Analyst’s Verdict:
With conditions in his favour, British Art could be the answer to this competitive-looking heat. He did well under the circumstances when fourth in a Down Royal novice last time (faced a stiff task at the weights) and looked progressive prior to that. Mystique Heights, successful at Naas last time, is likely to offer stern resistance and is feared most ahead of Geneva Barracks and Oscars Den.

3.25 Ladbrokes Acca Boosty Ten Up Novice Chase (Grade 2) 3m

Timeform Top Rated
163 2. ANY SECOND NOW T. M. Walsh M. P. Walsh
162p 5. CHRIS’S DREAM Henry de Bromhead Rachael Blackmore
159p 4. CHAMPAGNE CLASSIC Gordon Elliott J. W. Kennedy

Analyst’s Verdict:
Champagne Classic was a smart novice hurdler in 2016/17 (Cheltenham Festival and Grade 1 winner), and shaped very well on chase debut at Naas before lack of peak fitness caught him out after 21 months off, his jumping and the way he moved through the race suggesting he’s got a big future in this sphere as long as he remains sound. Chris’s Dream and Any Second Now are the obvious threats.

4.00 Boardsmill Sires Hunters Chase 3m

Timeform Top Rated
156 7. UCELLO CONTI Gordon Elliott Mr B. O’Neill
135+ 4. SYDNEY PAGET P. M. J. Doyle Mr D. O’Connor
131+ 2. COASTAL TIEP Stuart Crawford Mr B. G. Crawford (7)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Ucello Conti wasn’t anywhere near his best when scoring on hunter chase debut at Thurles last month, yet it would come as no surprise to see him improve from that effort and he can come out on top again with bigger targets ahead. Prolific pointer Sydney Paget and low-mileage 7-y-o Timewaitsfornoone are a couple of others to consider.

4.30 Ladbrokes Bet On The Cheltenham Festival Mares Handicap Hurdle 2½m

Timeform Top Rated
132 11. IKNOWWHEREIAMNOW J. P. Dempsey L. P. Dempsey
131 2. STUCKER HILL W. J. Lanigan D. E. Mullins
130 1. WATER SPRITE Mervyn Torrens R. C. Colgan

Analyst’s Verdict:
There is a race in I’m Not Alone and she could be the way to go stepping up in trip on just her sixth start. Iknowwhereiamnow and Gliondar Mo Chroi are a couple of others to consider.

5.00 Ladbrokes Odds Boost (Pro/Am) I.N.H. Flat 2m

Timeform Top Rated
104 10. MULTIFACTORIAL Gordon Elliott Ms Lisa O’Neill
100 3. CENOTICE Noel Meade Mr M. J. O’Hare (3)
91 7. FOUR COUNTRY ROADS M. Hourigan Mr D. O’Connor

Analyst’s Verdict:
Gordon Elliott could hold the key to this, with point-winner Thatsy fancied over Multifactorial in the hope he’s ready to go after nearly a year off.
