Manchester City v Stoke City

City have failed to score in back-to-back Premier League games for the first time in over two years. A 1-0 home loss to Chelsea followed by a 0-0 draw at Norwich City. Manuel Pellegrini’s side host Stoke City this weekend – the Potters are currently on a streak of 10 league matches without a clean sheet.

Newcastle v Villa

The Geordies have failed to score in each of their last four Premier League matches at St James’ Park, losing them 1-0, 2-0, 3-0 and 4-0 respectively.  Aston Villa kept a clean sheet on their last away day; 0-0 at Cardiff City.

West Ham United v Southampton

The Hammers have kept clean sheets in each of their last four Premier League games, the first time the club have done so in their Premier League history. Saints have scored in each of their last six in the league since being shut out by Chelsea on New Year’s Day. West Ham have kept the most clean sheets in the Premier League this season (13).

Arsenal v Sunderland

The gooners have been 0-0 at half-time in each of their last six home Premier League matches. Arsenal have not conceded any goal in their last 5 home matches. They host a Sunderland side on Saturday who have conceded just 5 goals in the first 45 minutes of away matches so far this season. Sunderland have been undefeated in their last 6 away matches.

WBA v Fulham

Saturday’s game at the Hawthorns sees the two teams on the current longest winless streak go head-to-head. Both are winless in their last 6 Premier League fixtures. All Fulhams games have gone over 1 goal.

Tottenham v Norwich

Spurs have scored in all 10 Premier League matches under Tim Sherwood – a combined total of 21 goals. Emmanuel Adebayor has scored 8 of these. Tottenham are 7W 2D 1L under Sherwood in the league ahead of their trip to Norwich City on Sunday. Tottenham Hotspur have collected the most points (29) from away matches in the Premier League this season.

Liverpool v Swansea (Sunday)

The Reds have scored the opening goal in 73{70aeb3532cb26dbe277d25ea128ebb74de84b9bd22e1583b0eb1b73768e061f6} of their matches (19 matches out of 26).

Chelsea v Everton

Chelsea may have one eye on the Champions League game against Galatasary next week and Jose Mourinho will want send out a strong team against the Turkish side. The Blues have been in great form at home this season and sit top of the home form table having not lost at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are averaging 2.15 goals scored per home game. They have failed to score in 1 game which was a 0-0 against West Ham. At the back they have been extremely good and average just 0.69 goals conceded per game and have kept a clean sheet in 38.5{70aeb3532cb26dbe277d25ea128ebb74de84b9bd22e1583b0eb1b73768e061f6} of home games.

Everton have been fairly mediocre away from home and sit 9th in the away form table. Romelu Lukaku will not be allowed to play against his parent club and they will suffer from that as he is their top away goal scorer along with Leighton Baines.

They are scoring at an average of 1.08 goals per game and have failed to score in 30.8{70aeb3532cb26dbe277d25ea128ebb74de84b9bd22e1583b0eb1b73768e061f6} of games. At the back they have suffered with the recent Merseyside Derby where they got smashed 4-0 by Liverpool making there average jump to 1.23 goals conceded per game and they have kept a clean sheet in 30.8{70aeb3532cb26dbe277d25ea128ebb74de84b9bd22e1583b0eb1b73768e061f6} of games.

Everton have drawn 6 of their 13 away games this season and that stat stands out when you look at the history between these two teams and that is where the value lies in this game.

Cardiff v Hull City

Cardiff can finely get something to cheer about here against a Hull side that have found life on the road in the Premiership very tough indeed. They have lost eleven of their last 13 away games and the Odds of 9/5 for a Cardiff victory seem very generous despite their own poor season so far.

Cardiff have however taken 4 Points from their last two premiership home games and may just be turning a corner and this represents a great opportunity for them to put some pressure on the teams above and maybe even climb out of the relegation places if other results go there way.

So far this month, Cardiff have claimed four points from their two Premiership home matches and will be hopeful of picking up another three against Steve Bruce’s men. A win for Cardiff could see them climb out of the bottom three and if that doesn’t provide enough motivation then the vocal crowd certainly will.

Bruce knows his men still have work to do but it seems probable that they’ll be plying their trade in the top-flight again next year.

However, their away record is poor. In 13 games on the road, they’ve picked up just eight points and Solskjaer will be confident that his side can inflict Hull’s 10th away loss of the campaign.

Four of Cardiff’s wins have come in the Welsh capital and if they are going to survive then it is essential that they continue to secure points at home. Against a team like Hull, there’s a good chance they will.

West Ham v Southampton

Saints were well out of sorts in last Weeks cup match at Sunderland in a game they were expected to win and I don’t expect to see a repeat of that kind of performance here. A Southampton team on their game should have far to much for this West Ham side and ironically its their passing game which should see them declared the victors here.

It doesn’t seem that many years ago that West Ham were known for their own slick passing style but the more direct and percentages style favoured by Allardyce may well come unstuck this week when the loss of Carroll in the last game of his ban could be key to any chances they had.

Confidence should be high in both camps after good recent runs of form but the greater quality Southampton have should see them win this one.

Charlton Athletic V QPR

At the Valley, it’s a London derby as Harry Redknapp’s promotion-chasing QPR travel to relegation threatened Charlton.

Whilst they might have three games in hand on those above them, the Addicks chances of survival are starting to look slim following four straight league defeats for Chris Powell’s side. The challenge of QPR is not one that the home side will relish.

The Hoops are suffering a blip of their own right now courtesy of back-to-back defeats over Reading and Derby. With Ravel Morrison joining their ranks from West Ham this week, there will be a renewed energy about the side and it should help them to overcome their London rivals.

QPR won the reverse fixture at Loftus Road thanks to a superb Charlie Austin effort and his return of 15 goals has been the key to their success and his absence will be felt by Redknapp’s side. However, they do have a host of other players capable of finding the net.

Unfortunately for Powell, he doesn’t have any prolific strikers and that could prove to be their downfall – not only on Saturday but in their survival bid too.

Wycombe Wanderers V Chesterfield

Wycombe sit precariously above the drop zone and their situation could be about to get even worse this weekend as they welcome top of the table Chesterfield to Adams Park.

The Spireites have won four of their last five outings whilst Wanderers are now on a run of nine league matches without victory. That poor run has seen them slide down the table and Gareth Ainsworth’s side are now fighting for their Football League status. Meanwhile, talks of a potetnial takeover at the club also adds to the uncertainty surrounding the League Two club.

As you might expect from the league leaders, Chesterfield boast a pretty decent away record. Conversely, Wycombe have won just three times at home this season and that shoddy return explains their current plight.

Three points for Chesterfield will further enhance their title credentials, they should get them at Adams Park.
