12.50 I.N.H. Stallion Owners European Breeders Fund Maiden Hurdle 2m3f139y
Timeform Rating of previous winners: 130 130 134 132 135 (Avg 132)

Analyst’s Verdict: Notebook stuck to his task really well when runner-up on hurdles debut at Wexford last week, and this winning pointer should have plenty more to offer over this trip. Salty Boy is second choice, though Bold Gesture could easily take a big step forward having joined Gordon Elliott.

138 3. NOTEBOOK Henry de Bromhead Rachael Blackmore
124 4. SALTY BOY Ms Margaret Mullins D. E. Mullins
106p 5. SPYGLASS HILL Henry de Bromhead A. E. Lynch

1.25 Clonmel Oil Race Day Handicap Hurdle 2m3f139y

Analyst’s Verdict: Milomynit was better than the result in a Downpatrick handicap that has worked out well and a 3 lb rise for that third-place finish could be lenient. Benny In Milan and Tintown Robin head the opposition in what looks a strong race for the grade.

128 7. MILOMYNIT Henry de Bromhead Rachael Blackmore
127 8. ASKARI Gordon Elliott J. W. Kennedy
125 1. BENNY IN MILAN Denis Hogan D. G.

1.55 Clonmel Oil Service Station Handicap Hurdle 3m

Analyst’s Verdict: Odit ran his best race for a while when runner-up at Galway last time and may still have more to offer for his current yard. Cooldine Bog and Massini’s Trap head the dangers.

150 7. ODIT Denis Hogan D. G. Hogan
149 6. COOLDINE BOG A. Slattery C. A. Landers (5)
148 2. MASSINI’S TRAP James A. Nash Gavin Peter Brouder (7)

2.30 Prior Park Service Station Clonmel Hurdle 2m110y
Timeform Rating of previous winners: – – 140 140 148 (Avg 143)

Analyst’s Verdict: Roaring Bull’s jumping became a cause for concern during the spring but he holds sound claims on the pick of his form and is narrowly selected to come out on top on return, in the hope his jumping flaws have been ironed out. Capital Force and Chambord Du Lys can do battle for minor honours.

138 2. ROARING BULL Gordon Elliott Davy Russell
137 1. CAPITAL FORCE Henry de Bromhead A. E. Lynch
123+ 4. CHAMBORD DU LYS W. P. Mullins R. Walsh

3.00 Clonmel Oil Chase (Grade 2) 2½m11y
Timeform Rating of previous winners: 169 182 177 171 173 (Avg 174)

Analyst’s Verdict: Kemboy had a superb campaign as a novice chaser and is all set to hit the ground running before taking his form to a new level this time round. He should be able to account for the likes of Doctor Phoenix and Alpha Des Obeaux, who are both quality performers in their own right.

176p 4. KEMBOY W. P. Mullins P. Townend
175 3. DOCTOR PHOENIX Gordon Elliott Keith Donoghue
171 2. ALPHA DES OBEAUX Gordon Elliott J. W. Kennedy

3.35 T.A. Morris Memorial Irish European Breeders Fund Mares Chase (Listed) 2½m11y
Timeform Rating of previous winners: 144 148 167 157 171 (Avg 157)

Analyst’s Verdict: Shattered Love is a likeable sort who jumps well and she sets an excellent standard on the back of her second in a Grade 2 at Down Royal recently, so she’s an obvious choice to go one better down in grade. Dinaria des Obeaux and Youcantcallherthat could fill the places.

168 2. SHATTERED LOVE Gordon Elliott J. W. Kennedy
158 5. CAMELIA DE COTTE W. P. Mullins P. Townend
155 3. YOUCANTCALLHERTHAT Denis Hogan D. G. Hogan

4.05 Clonmel Oil Slan Abhaile I.N.H. Flat 2m110y

Analyst’s Verdict: Acronym improved from debut when second at Wexford last month and is the one to beat on that evidence. Shanakey looks a stable lesser light but can still provide the main threat.

99p 1. ACRONYM Gordon Elliott Ms Lisa O’Neill
98 2. COMEONTHEBULL Robert Stephens Mr T. Hamilton (5)
90 5. SHANAKEY W. P. Mullins Mr P. W. Mullins
