Todays Racing News, weather affected…
Todays racing sees Britain and Ireland’s training yards and racecourses suffering continued battering from the elements.
After another galeforce day yesterday, more problems are being added to those already wrought by heavy rainfall.
Leicester remain hopeful that Thursday’s card will survive a 7.45am inspection, officials are already sufficiently concerned to call inspections for Sandown’s Friday card and Ffos Las on Sunday, with both courses partly waterlogged.
The BHA responded on Wednesday by announcing a second jumpers’ bumper card at Kempton for Sunday, while both Wincanton and Market Rasen are on standby to switch to all-hurdling cards over the weekend.
Is it too early to think this may affect the beginning of the turf season? NO, we are not suggesting meetings at risk, but how forward horses will be wen it comes too the off? Maybe food for thought when planning your early season bets as to which yards have been affected throughout this dificult winter?
