Zetland Gold Cup: Redcar 26th May Sennockian Star has Leading Chance
It’s a Bank Holiday Monday racing day with the prime event being the ‘Happy 10th Birthday Racing UK Zetland Gold Cup’ at Redcar with two of our notebook runners up against each other…..
Redcar 16.15…..SENNOCKIAN STAR (nap) has been effective in all of his four races this term and can land this today. He’s just 1lb higher in the weights than when second, beaten 2 lengths, behind Tres Coronas at Chester earlier this month when we landed the 1-2 home if you can remember – follow the link if you can’t?
Previously, our selection had beaten Tres Coronas when winning the City and Suburban at Epsom, with that horse going close again at York last time out. The City and Surburban looks a good pointer here, with the third home Soviet Rock also winning.
Our other notebook runner in this race is Ennistown who has proved largely progressive and needs respecting today…..could we land another 1-2!!!
A big threat to our selection may well come from Stepping Ahead who ran well on his seasonal turf debut. He copes with a bit of cut in the ground…..but not as well as ours….so it’s SENNOCKIAN STAR for us at a best priced EW value 6/1 with BetVictor.
Carlisle 14.40…..ORBIT THE MOON is long overdue a success and we have stuck with him for some time now. Traditionally, low numbers have an advantage in races up to a mile, although on soft ground the opposite can be true as runners can race up the stands side rail.
With him Drawn 13, let’s hope this proves the case and if he can recapture the form of those two close runs at Newcastle last month he should be thereabouts and with Conor Beasley up top is a decent EW price of value 13/2 with BetVictor.
Redcar 15.40…..AL BUSAYYIR is the last of our ‘notebook horses’ going today. He had five subsequent winners behind him when making a successful reappearance, so with that form franked he looks capable of further progress and a best priced 3/1 with PaddyPower. Sir Michael Stoute’s Stampede is an unexposed threat and will probably go off as favourite which may be beneficial to the price of our charge?
